If John Smith is an 89 default QB; but team A tries to "hide him" as a 42 default FB cutting him as a FA, does he go back in the FA pool as a FB or QB? If he defaults back to QB, we really need the opinion meter shut off.

If he is going back as a FB then that needs addressed.

I just feel that if there is not going to be a practice squad with the rationale they are essentially FAs, we need the FA restrictions (opinions) lifted.

That's why if I ever get a practice squad, it will be made up of a C(TE), LT(FB), RB(QB), RDE(SS), SLB(CB), DT(WLB), and WLB(FS). Or maybe a couple of TE(WR)s. They'll all be on a strict diet of HoHos, pork rinds, ice cream, and beer.

My 2 cents, which I admit is nothing original as a lot of others have stated the same:

1. Injuries add to the fun of the game, they are a wanted component.
2. There are positions now, where the injuries are way too prevalent. At the top of that list is OL - the injury rate could be halved of its current distribution and that would be about right.
3. I don't believe playing "probables" just as normal does not hurt anything. I find that totally untrue.

I don't want injuries to be totally nerfed - but I do want to see TURN IT DOWN!

#2: Agreed - in the trenches you have to hold your breath every game and there's no way around accumulating line injuries.
#3: It's a tricky process. JDB hit on it a bit with 'what can I get away with' and 'how big is the game.' Questionable's not happening unless Conference Finals or Finals, basically. Probables based on opponent and importance of game and am I nailed with injuries at the position. How can I finagle it? But, yeah, I'd never blindly play all probables. It's a finesse and strategy....made difficult as JDB said.

Nothing is ever cut and dried like lets have everyone injured for realism!!! or no one ever gets a hint of an injury.

This is about scaling back on injuries a bit while still maintaining that strategic element of the game.

This is the stats i got. I trust my math...it could be wrong, but i am questioning some of cjs averages but I am only using the regular season though. A couple of seasons ago mfn1 had injury rates at 6.3 per game . this season after 9 games it's roughly 6.7. A slight uptick. Nfl is around 6.6. The amount of playing time missed here is half as low as the nfl.

A setting of 30 will keep Oline and dline on the feild for nearly 100 % of snaps . ..pending conditioning then positionaL demands during the play . Dbs will do the same with a 50 setting. Each point lower than those setting drop snap counts by 2%.

In mfn1 , Cincinnati has 10 players going for nfl records in terms of snaps , and they are at 3.2 injuries a game, a little below the nfl average of 3.3 per game per team. Would he have every starter playing every snap if stuff was lowered? Idk ...maybe

I don't really give a **** about your stats...and I'm not here for freakin math class.
I'm here for football. I know what football looks like and this 045 edition is far far away from real football.
How many times in real football do you see a punt returner head for the nearest tackler like a heat seeking missile? In real football the object there is to avoid a tackler.
How many times in real football do you see a DE bearing down on a QB like a heat seeking missile, then bounce off of an invisible protective force field?
How may times in real football do you see the following players enter the nfl draft with these attributes:

QB's with sub 20 pass accuracy?
RB's with sub 20 speed?
Wr's with sub 20 speed,pass catching, route running?... (one or all 3)
O-line with sub 40 strength and or sub 40 blocking ability? (pass and or run)
DB's with sub 20 speed?
D-line with sub 20 strength? Sub 20 pass rush or sub 20 run defense???

Happens all the time in the mfn football world.

Like I said before in another post, If the intention here is to run people away from this game, then carry on like it is now...because it's working.
If that's not the intention, then changes need to be made...
And I'm **** tired of arguing about it.

I'm playing everyone now. JDB said even questionable players can play, so since I'm tired of the injury shuffle, I'm playing everyone questionable or better. If they get hurt worse, I hope they become Out, so I can put them on IR (JDB said there are unlimited IR, as long as you have cap room).

When you spend weeks "venting" about the same exact "issue", it's just whining and bitching.

Everyone get hits by injuries sometimes. It's part of the game.

It funny how you all see me as trolling, when the best piece of genuine advice in this topic has come from me. Actually the two best;

1) If you're not having fun - quit. It's not supposed to be a second job, it's supposed to be entertaining. It's a game.

2) We need injury management tools, not a reduction in injuries. Playing with no injuries would make this game dull af.

I'm in the same boat as Mcarovil & Cjfred. I don't have a problem with injuries. I've always played probables & occasionally benched questionables.
I recognize that many of my counterparts have issues with injuries & I would love for it to be looked at in MFN-1. That's where adjustments are made. :)

My crusade is over. Enough owners in my leagues had an issue with injuries that I wanted them to be heard by JDB.

He directly responded to the thread so mission accomplished. My stance has always been to just deal with them because I have limited control over them...in a nutshell....injuries happen!

As league admin, it's not always about me and my concerns but the concerns of the other 31 owners in all 5 of my leagues. They bring their questions and concerns to me and I act accordingly.

Despite my stance on injuries, if enough owners are getting inundated with injuries and reaching a level of frustration that may lead them to actually quitting the game....then the issue needed to be brought to light.

Realism is awesome and 3.3 injuries per game per team is correct but other aspects of the sim are simplified in regards to roster size and construction. 90 in training camp and preseason versus 60 in game for both. The arguement for no practice squad is it's essentially 7 free agents and not worth the trouble and that's not entirely a true statement. You can move players from active to practice squad from week to week exposing the player to other teams but in game unless you place someone on injured reserve, you have to sign a free agent while cutting an active player who will never resign with you because he is livid.

So if the size and construction is less in MFN shouldnt the injuries be lessened in turn to balance that out? It's not my call and will play the game as I always have but I'm glad all the owners with issues were heard and Im really hoping we dont lose any of them.

In closing, always remember that respecting others is the best way to be respected and the only people that believe experience isnt important are people with no experience.
