Doing the blog and saw Portland's Mark McKeon had 9 sacks in the game against Denver, which got me curious what the most sacks in a game was. The answer is 9, done just this once, breaking the record of 8, held by 5 players. It was first done by Baltimore's Les Lynch in 1977.
He currently leads the league in sacks with 9 total by 4 sacks. His 9 sacks would place him in the top 5 in sacks the last 7 seasons and top 2 in sacks 5 of the last 7 seasons.
It looks like Seth found an override on a 2 Deep Man defensive play putting an 89 speed linebacker on the front 3 of the formation. Couple that with the offense getting caught on 7 long passes and 4 medium passes to create a perfect storm...pun intended!
