Look at this, after 3 games this is my OL situation:
I dismissed Tarquin's comment about teams that did well the previous season seems to be hit hardest - now I'm starting to wonder if there is something to #ParityParanoia. This team won the league championship the previous season.
Yikes!!!!
You dont even have enough healthy lineman to field a team. You would have to play the healthy ones plus one injured one and raise your fatique to 100 for a couple games.....then cross your fingers.
Once a team gets past 7 injuries....it becomes a constant juggle to field a team without exposing injured players to additional and more severe injuries.
Your example is a prime candidate for why everyone should have a 7 player practice squad. You could activate a lineman from the practice squad and throw some defensive player or special team player on the practice squad.
I know the arguement is anyone can sign practice squad players so they are basically free agents but there is a difference. If injuries are gonna snowball then everyone should be able to keep those marginal players on a practice squad to hot swap for injuries. Sure anyone can sign a practice squad player but they would have to release someone too and it allows for keeping rookies that arent quite good enough to crack the roster but could develop into a depth piece.
If you draft a rookie and cut him, he will sign anywhere but back with you because he is livid.
