Dropped my 7th round pick post draft and signed some rookie DT I renamed Macaulay Culkin. Culkin will stick around, as will the other boomers. Reagan, Eruzione and Rubik will be looking for work. It's 1980 so Reagan is too busy for football anyway running a country or something. Eruzione has a gold medal to fall back on while Rubik will be counting the money he made from his cube.
So my first-round pick QB busts harder than any other player in the first round (minus-19). His accuracy will never exceed 45. So, I am going to cut him and take an $8 million salary cap hit next season.
I know some of you routinely take high-vol players with early first-round picks, but I question the long-term logic of that strategy. I know this is the last time for me. This mistake is really going to set back the Georgia Force rebuilding timetable.

Pleasant suruprise with my 4th round QB and RB. Big jump by my 2nd round RG makes up for the big drop by my 1st round C. 3rd round DE looks to be a lost pick.

Mostly it's best to be rather consistent with it. If you know you open to high vol you attack free agency with more mind towards the cap if you are smart. You assume you'll be facing dead cap so you keep the cap set to handle it. I even see vet owners get hamstrung with cap troubles doing this. As always foresight helps. In many leagues I like to have a 40m cap buffer to make sure I can make the best moves for the team. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Both 1st round lineman stayed good.. one gained a good bit the other stayed put which was perfectly fine.. that combined with the trades for 2 guards should mean a really solid front line for the offense. 2nd round FB converted to RB busted but still looks like he can be a serviceable #2 until i find a true starter.. I had several players converted to DE boom and I really needed that.. secondary looking pretty bad but I expected that.. 14 picks, a little over half panned out, the important ones for sure so I think I happy with the overall draft.
