Man, I forgot to pay attention to the clock. I started to write about Week 10, had spent 20-30 minutes on it when the sim ran and my progress disappeared. I'm kind of tired and don't feel like restarting so I'm going to eat and go to bed. I should be able to get this done tomorrow afternoon.

I just saw this on Facebook, are they spying on my MFN activity too?

OK, time to try this again, no danger of the sim running now. We had a lot of games that weren't close. I usually start with the undefeated teams but San Antonio didn't even score half the points that New Orleans and Washington put up despite winning 31-6. New Orleans scored 67 and Washington scored 64. I'll get to those games shortly.

Speaking of New Orleans, they'll likely clinch the division soon as they have a 5 game lead with 6 to play. San Antonio and New York have 3 game leads. Michigan has a 2 game lead while Washington leads by 1.5 games. The three tightest divisions have Portland leading by 1 and ties in the Pacific and Southeast. The current wildcard race is quite jumbled, but should sort out over the final 6 games.

New Orleans improves to 10-0 with a 67-0 win over Boston. Howard Becker had a combined 293 yards and 3 TDs with 257 and 2 coming on the ground. Michael Ferrell ran for 123 yards as the VooDoo ran for 393 as a team. James Wright was just 17/37, 207 yards but he threw a TD pass to 5 different receivers against 2 INTs. Boston's offense had just as bad of a game as the defense, gaining just 4 first downs with 104 total yards.

Washington stung Charlotte 64-10. William Flock got the scoring started with the 5th punt return TD of his career in just 50 total returns. The record is 6 by William Haubert and it took him 296 returns to do it. Stop punting to Flock. Anyway that's the least of the Hornet's troubles today. The Federals defense scored a safety and a TD on sacks in the end zone. Keith Carter lost a fumble on one of the end zone sacks for a defensive TD. James Ford ran for 182 yards and 2 TDs, while Michael Erickson threw for 319 yards and 4 TDs. Jacob Hazlett caught 6 for 143 yards and 2 TDs while William Flock also caught 2 TD passes, showing he's more than the league's best punt returner. The Washington defense had 5 sacks and forced 5 turnovers.

San Antonio beat Memphis 31-6 and the Gunslingers are now 3-0 in division play, beating the other 3 teams once each. They also enjoy a 3 game lead. Memphis did have a dominant rushing duo but they were stymied today for 59 total yards between Hoffman and Schmidt. QB Gary Westerfield threw 2 INTs but the Showboats were already trailing big before the first one as the defense had no early answer for San Antonio's offense. Glenn Graham got the scoring started with a 9 yard TD run but he only had 51 rushing yards and 53 receiving. George Warner then threw 3 first half TD passes for a 28-0 halftime lead. Eric Rodriguez didn't catch any of the TD passes but he did catch 5 for 161 yards as Warner finished with 380 passing yards.

Portland improves to 8-2 with a 27-6 win over Chicago. Curtis Torres threw 2 TD passes and the running game had 215 yards and a TD to lead the offense. Defensively they forced no turnovers but they did sack Douglas Lee 6 times and held the Blitz to 163 total yards.

Denver beat Arizona 30-20 despite 3 INTs thrown by Kevin Via. Via did throw for 262 yards and a TD with no sacks taken so it wasn't all bad, and Mark Reyes rushing for 118 yards and 2 TDs really helped. Denver led at one point 24-0 before Arizona stormed back to within 27-20 early in the 4th but that's as close as they could get. Michael Chapin returned a punt 75 yards for a TD for the Wranglers.

Denver has won 6 in a row now, just like San Jose. The SaberCats beat Georgia 30-14 in a game between 2 teams that go for 2 points pretty much always. This was a typical game from past versions of San Jose as Myron Dustin took 10 sacks yet still threw for 615 yards and 3 TDs while the defense didn't allow much to the other team. Georgia kept it close early with the help of a 110 yard kickoff return by Alex Beane, but Adam Patrick ended up with 0 TD passes and 3 INTs for the day. Scott Isaacs led the SaberCats receivers, catching 7 for 212 yards and a TD. Lynn McLaurin caught 9 for 143 yards and a TD while Perry Nelson caught 5 for 109. Robert McMeans had 4 sacks for Georgia.

San Jose was an Oklahoma fan before kickoff of their game against Honolulu. The Hawaiians spoiled the watch party though as they intercepted 4 Robert North passes en route to a 17-0 win over Oklahoma. The win keeps the Hawaiians in a first place tie with the surging SaberCats in the Pacific. Victor Russell threw 2 TD passes to account for most of the scoring and David Gonzalez had 2 of the 4 INTs for the Honolulu defense.

Michigan beat Oakland 24-6 in an important game for both teams. The win plus the Detroit loss I haven't mentioned yet gives the Panthers a 2 game lead in the Midwest. The loss drops Oakland into 3rd place in the West despite a 6-3-1 record. The Invaders are currently on the outside looking in at the playoffs. Charles Keller ran for 126 yards and a TD while Willie Reddish threw for 223 yards and 2 TDs. The Michigan defense had 3 sacks and held Oakland under 200 yards of offense.

Houston beat New York 31-3 in an important game for both teams. Truthfully, New York could afford the loss given their cushion in the East while Houston needs every win they can get in a crowded American Conference playoff picture. Houston kept firing away on offense, overcoming 4 turnovers to rack up 560 yards of offense. The running game accounted for 249 yards and 2 TDs with Snake Roberts (122-1) leading the way. Dale Baber threw 2 TDs and 2 INTs, finishing with 327 passing yards. Randy Savage led the way with 88 receiving yards to give him 143 combined for the game. Defensively, Houston forced New York into 3 turnovers with 1 sack, allowing 164 total yards.

Orlando beat Baltimore 38-10. Baltimore took an instant 7-0 lead when Rodger Brown returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a TD. Orlando had 464 total yards and overcame 3 Michael Smith INTs to win going away. Outside of the kick return, Baltimore didn't do much and Hector Bednar threw 2 INTs of his own, with one returned for a TD by James Hedrick. Michael Smith did throw for 297 yards and 3 TDs, with Joseph Cooper catching 3 for 111 yards and 2 scores. Orlando has had a streaky season, winning their first 3, losing the next 3 and now they are on a 4 game winning streak and they almost had first place to themselves because...

Jacksonville needed OT to beat winless Cleveland 6-3. Neither team reached the red zone and QBs were dropping like flies. Jacksonville sacked Carl Langlois 8 times while Cleveland sacked William Barron 6 times. The stat lines weren't pretty and there isn't much to say about a 6-3 OT game other than Jacksonville remains tied atop the Southeast.

Pittsburgh beat Florida 23-9 as they try to catch Washington in the Atlantic. The Maulers sacked Nicholas Meis 6 times, and Meis leads the league getting sacked 60 times this season. Pittsburgh had 377 total yards with Thomas Hampton throwing for 240 and a TD. Kenneth Allen ran for 91 yards and a TD to lead the rushing attack. For Florida, Thomas Gonzales caught 10 for 112 yards.

Shreveport beat Philadelphia 20-13 to improve to 5-5. The Steamer won despite 155 offensive yards as they didn't turn the ball over while the Bell lost 2 fumbles. Surprisingly Joel Jasso threw 0 INTs but he was sacked 6 times. Frederick Martin had 88 rushing yards and a TD against his former team and Michael Applebaum broke a 13-13 tie in the 4th with a 2 yard TD pass to Jose Garth.

Southern California beat Los Angeles 41-3. Sun QBs combined to complete 34/48, 433 yards and 4 TDs. Starter John Barrios was 30/41, 367 yards and 3 TDs while backup Michael Broughton was 4/7, 66 yards and a TD. Gary Danforth caught 8 for 149 yards and 2 TDs to lead the receivers. Southern California had 517 offensive yards while allowing the Express 171. The Sun defense had 4 sacks and forced 3 turnovers.

Tampa Bay beat Detroit 29-3 thanks to a strong defense and 5 Keeshawn Tye FGs. Tampa Bay ran for 171 yards and 2 TDs. Jason Glowacki ran for 52 yards and 2 TDs while Carl Gillard led in yards with 85. Gillard also was the leading receiver with 47 yards to give him 142 combined today. The Bandits defense held the Wheels to 73 total yards, sacking Curtis Kim 5 times and intercepting him twice.

New Jersey beat Birmingham 23-12. Eric Hansen threw 2 TD passes and Howie "Stump" Schwab kicked 3 FGs to lead the New Jersey offense. The Generals sacked Russell Gall 6 times and intercepted him twice while keeping the Stallions out of the end zone.

Stephen Morrow would have a real shot at the starting QB job should North keep throwing incompletions and interceptions

North keeps his job for another week with a solid game against New Jersey. I'll get to that game sometime but we lost one of our unbeaten teams this week as Houston gave San Antonio their first loss of the season. The Gunslingers still have a 2 game division lead. That leaves New Orleans as the last team without a loss. Boston got their first win of the season, leaving Cleveland in the pole position for #1 pick.

I intended to do this yesterday but there were computer issues with other stuff I was trying to fix and it took a good chunk of the day and I needed to cut my grass with rain coming this week. I spent a good chunk of the day aggravated and not in the mood to do the write up. Fast forward to today and I'm finally getting to this 90 minutes before work and I still need to shower so I probably won't get finished until after work in the early am.

Houston beat San Antonio 26-23, handing the Gunslingers their first loss. Each team's offense and defense had their moments in this game as Dale Baber completed 19/28, 305 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT and 5 sacks taken, including one for a safety. George Warner completed 28/40, 292 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT and 4 sacks taken. The Houston defense kept Glenn Graham bottled up, allowing him 29 rushing yards on 17 carries plus 4 catches for 8 yards. Jessie Anderson caught both Warner TD passes but Daniel Cruz torched the Gamblers for 145 yards on 12 catches. Houston spread the ball around with Randy Savage gaining a combined 135 yards and a TD (67 rushing yards, 68 receiving). Houston got out to a 13-0 lead and led 13-3 at halftime. The teams exchanged TDs to make the score 20-10 in the 3rd before San Antonio tied it with a safety, TD, and 2 point conversion early in the 4th. Dale Baber answered with his 3rd TD pass with a failed 2 point try while the Gunslingers closed the scoring with a FG. San Antonio had a last ditch drive to try to tie or win but they ran out of time and yards.

New Orleans improves to 11-0 with a 40-3 win over Shreveport. James Wright threw for 272 yards and 4 TDs to lead the offense. Nicholas Reyes caught 10 for 130 yards, Bradley Schilling caught 2 TD passes and Howard Becker ran for 110 yards. Defensively they held Shreveport to 74 total yards, forcing 2 turnovers with 4 sacks.

San Jose won their 7th straight game, beating Southern California 22-20. The SaberCats had 468 total yards and 7 red zone opportunities but scored just 3 TDs. Myron Dustin threw for 340 yards and a TD but he took 5 sacks and threw 3 INTs. The SaberCats running committee had 163 yards and 2 TDs on just 19 carries. Philip Curry ran for 128 yards and a TD for the Sun, and that TD gave Southern California a 17-16 lead in the 4th. A Charles Tillman TD run proved to be the game winner for San Jose.

Denver can't decide which mediocre QB to play but the rest of the team doesn't care as the Gold have also won 7 in a row after beating Portland 23-14. Bernard Smith replaced Kevin Via but threw 3 INTs and took 3 sacks. His first INT was returned for a TD by Portland's Wesley Parr. Denver also lost a fumble but the Gold defense intercepted 3 passes of their own with 4 sacks. Curtis Torres didn't have a good passing day for Portland but he was their leading rusher with 54 yards on 2 scrambles. Denver's runners combined for 105 yards and 2 TDs on 21 carries. This win gives Denver a sweep of Portland and the tiebreaker, which is quite important since these teams are in fact tied atop the West.

I could probably do another game or 2 but I'm going to stop here. Good luck in your games tonight and I'll wrap up Week 11 in the morning.

OK, time to get back at it and catch up on Week 11 games before getting to the games that ran this morning. Four games were already done so now it's the other 12 games.

In the interest of time, I'm going to do the remaining 12 games in the order they're listed on my schedule.

Honolulu beat Georgia 40-14 behind 446 yards and 3 TDs from QB Victor Russell. Fred Thomas caught 9 for 259 yards and a TD. The Hawaiians defense was solid for the most part, sacking Adam Patrick 5 times and intercepting him once. Ralph Wicker ran for 118 yards and a TD for Georgia, thanks in large part to his 75 yard TD run. The win keeps Honolulu tied atop the Pacific.

Washington beat Pittsburgh 23-16 in the first of 2 games between the Atlantic division rivals. Washington (8-2) had a 1.5 game lead on Pittsburgh (6-3-1) prior to kickoff and the Maulers needed this win to tighten the race. Michael Erickson completed 26/36, 238 yards and 2 TDs to lead Washington, who got out to early leads of 10-0 and 13-3. Pittsburgh got within 13-10 with a Thomas Hampton TD pass inside the 2 minute warning but Erickson was able to match that before the half ended, taking a 20-10 lead into the locker room. In the second half, Pittsburgh kicked 2 FGs to get within 20-16 before the Federals extended it to 23-16 with a FG of their own. Pittsburgh frantically tried to tie or win with a 2 point conversion on their final regulation drive but they ran out of time at the Washington 6 yard line.

Oakland beat Charlotte 34-6. Domingo Robinson completed 15/18, 275 yards and 3 TDs with Harry Warnke catching 4 for 129 yards and a TD. The Invaders ball carriers combined for 181 yards and a TD while the defense had 4 sacks, an INT, and held the Hornets to 157 total yards.

Arizona beat Cleveland 18-0. The Wranglers defense held the Thunderbolts to 146 total yards, sacking Carl Langlois 8 times, including once for a safety. Arizona's offense only had 253 yards themselves but it was enough for Rafael Ray to kick 3 FGs. John Adams got the Arizona TD on a 5 yard pass to Earl Drake, though he finished the game 16/21, 91 yards, 1 TD and 1 sack taken. Nine different Wranglers caught a pass today.

Tampa Bay beat Florida 16-13 despite losing the turnover battle and allowing more sacks. Florida QB Nicholas Meis leads the league in sacks taken but the Bandits had no sacks today. The Blazers offense still struggled regardless, gaining 183 yards on the day. David Fields threw INTs on 3 straight drives in the second half but Florida could not take advantage. Carl Gillard led the Bandits in rushing (13-49) and receiving (7-90-1). Florida had tied the game just outside the 2 minute warning and forced a Tampa Bay punt, but Meis threw an INT to set up the game winning Keeshawn Tye 32 yard FG as time expired.

Jacksonville beat Michigan 56-31 in a shootout battle of division leaders. It was a 21-17 game early in the 2nd qtr when the Bulls scored 21 unanswered points to take control of the game and never looked back, unless it was watching William Barrett running down the field for Michigan. Both teams ran the ball well when they ran, averaging about 6.5 ypc combined but the QBs were the stars today. For Jacksonville William Barron completed 36/45, 492 yards, 6 TDs, 1 INT and 4 sacks taken. Four different Bulls had at least 82 receiving yards led by Donald Wade's 105 yards and 2 TDs. Arthur Bogdan also caught 2 TDs while James Agguire led the rushers with 70 yards and a TD. For Michigan, Willie Reddish completed 24/47, 391 yards, 4 TDs, and 4 sacks taken. William Barrett caught 7 for 234 yards and 2 TDs. All together these teams combined for 1050 yards even after accounting for the 4 sacks apiece.

Chicago beat Orlando 19-13 in OT. The Renegades have to be kicking themselves after watching a win slip through their fingers but early in the game Orlando didn't take advantage of the opportunities presented and paid for it in the end. Chicago only had 250 offensive yards with 102 of that coming in OT. Douglas Lee threw 2 early INTs but Orlando got just 3 points out of it. For the game, Orlando had 351 total yards, converting 10/22 3rd downs, yet didn't score their first TD until inside the 2 minute warning. Michael Smith's 17 yard TD pass to Joseph Calkins gave Orlando a 13-10 lead at the time but Samuel Diaz tied it at the gun with a 53 yard FG. Orlando got the ball first in OT and punted, as did Chicago. The Renegades missed a 31 yard FG on their 2nd OT drive before Douglas Lee ended the game with a walk off 78 yard TD pass to Jack Ramos.

Oklahoma traveled to New Jersey with QB Robert North on a short leash after some bad play. The Generals defense cures a lot of ills this season and North keeps his job, completing 23/30, 265 yards and 3 TDs, 0 INTs and 0 sacks taken. Donald Ramirez caught 2 of the TD passes while Raymond Russo ran for 158 yards, adding 48 receiving for a 206 yard day.

Los Angeles beat Detroit 12-10 in an offensively challenged game. The teams combined for 324 total yards and no offensive TDs. Lawrence Trujillo kicked 3 FGs for a 9-0 Los Angeles lead before Express QB Donald Davis was intercepted. Charles Doss took it 25 yards for the game's lone TD that got Detroit within 9-7. Defensively the Express sacked Curtis Kim 6 times and intercepted him twice en route to holding the Wheels to 119 total yards.

Memphis beat East leading New York 28-13. The Stars outgained the Showboats but Memphis went 4/4 in the red zone while New York had a TD and a FG in 3 red zone trips. Memphis refocused on the running game and it paid off as George Hoffman ran for 94 yards and a TD while running mate Randy Schmidt had 68 yards and 2 TDs. Both QBs spread the ball around as Memphis had 9 different players catch a pass while New York had 10.

Philadelphia beat Birmingham 28-25 in a battle of struggling playoff contenders. Neither team is used to being below .500 in recent seasons but here we are. Joel Jasso and Russell Gall have both had bad seasons with lots of INTs but neither QB threw any today. Joel Jasso completed 29/42, 240 yards, 4 TDs and 4 sacks taken. Three of his TD passes came in the 2nd qtr as the Bell got out to a 21-3 halftime lead. Birmingham scored 22 unanswered points in the 2nd half to take a 25-21 lead, with Jeffrey Long kicking 3 FGs, Russell Gall completing a 77 yard TD pass to Mohammed Manno with the go ahead TD coming on a Nelson Castro strip sack of Joel Jasso in the end zone. Lawrence Lothian fell on the loose ball for the go ahead TD with 4:08 to play. Jasso then led the Bell down the field for the game winning 14 yard TD pass to James Walker.

Boston beat Baltimore 12-0 in an offensively challenged game. These teams combined for 320 total yards and the best box score nugget I found was Sean Cleveland leading Baltimore in rushing (12-57) and receiving (10-62). Boston got to the red zone 4 times but couldn't cash any TDs, settling for 4 Felipe Norfleet FGs. That was enough to get the win though as the Stars missed a FG on their lone scoring opportunity. The onfield product may have been ugly but for Boston, it was beautiful because they got off the schneid for their first win of the season.

Let's see how much I can get done for Week 12 before the midweek sim spins. If you've never been typing right when the sim spins, it doesn't save your progress when the screen changes so all will be lost if I'm not watching the clock.

New Orleans remains on track for home field advantage, beating East leading New York 20-0. James Wright completed 29/40, 375 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT. Nicholas Reyes caught 9 for 188 yards while Charles Grogan caught 5 for 112 and a TD. The New Orleans defense had no sacks and just 1 INT but they held New York to 124 yards of offense and 8 first downs, 3 by penalty.

Denver won their 8th straight game, beating Oakland 20-17 in an important West division showdown. Kevin Via completed 30/42, 315 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT to lead Denver to the win. Domingo Robinson threw 2 TD passes for Oakland in the first half as the Invaders got out to a 14-3 lead before Via and the Gold defense led them back. Denver was able to sustain drives early but missed some scoring opportunities. Once Oakland grabbed that early lead, the Denver defense stymied them while the offense finally broke through for some points. The running game didn't produce much for either side but Kevin Hillman's 1 yard TD run with 6:12 to play proved to be the game winner.

San Jose won their 8th straight game and they now have sole possession of first in the Pacific. The SaberCats won despite Myron Dustin getting sacked 10 times and throwing 4 INTs, including a Pick Six. Every San Jose drive ended with either a TD, INT, or turnover on downs as Dustin completed 39/59, 593 yards and 3 TDs. The SaberCats runners combined for 140 yards and 3 TDs, led by Charles Tillman's 81 and 2. Lynn McLaurin caught 17 passes for 260 yards and a TD while the USFL career leading rusher Vic Mackey caught 5 for 142 yards and a TD. That might be a career high in receiving yardage for Mackey, I don't remember him having that many when he was in New Jersey. It wasn't all offense for San Jose, as their defense allowed negative 2 yards for the game. They didn't force any turnovers but they obviously didn't need to today, and they did have 9 sacks.

The next hottest team is the Houston Gamblers, who shut out Honolulu 32-0 for their 5th straight win. The Gamblers won today with their running game and defense, plus some help from QB Dale Baber. It wasn't all good for Baber as he threw 2 INTs and took 3 sacks but he also had 341 yards and a TD. Randy Savage ran for 119 yards and a TD while Snake Roberts ran for 48, plus caught 6 for 126 yards and a TD. Defensively they had 4 sacks and held the Hawaiians to 99 total yards.

San Antonio got back on the winning track after losing their first game last week with a 34-3 win over Boston, who got their first win last week. The Gunslingers runners had nearly 10 yards a carry, gaining 229 yards and a TD on 23 carries, led by Glenn Graham's 127 yards. He also scored their rushing TD. George Warner completed 23/45, 276 yards and 3 TDs with Daniel Cruz catching 6 for 122 yards and 1 TD. Jack Lu caught the other 2 scores.

Washington and Tampa Bay played 70 minutes of football and couldn't decide a winner, tying 16-16. Tampa Bay scored first with a Keeshawn Tye FG before Michael Erickson and David Fields each threw a TD pass to give the Bandits a 10-7 halftime lead. Washington's Raymond Hosmer booted 3 FGs in the 3rd qtr to give the Federals a 16-10 lead but Tye made 2 FGs in the 4th, including the game tying FG at the end of regulation. Each team had the ball 4 times in OT with only Washington having a scoring chance but the 56 yard FG try came up short and the game ends in a tie. No big stat lines to talk about either.

Portland beat Arizona 22-7 to keep pace with Denver atop the West. Curtis Torres threw for 224 yards and 2 TDs while 3 Storm ball carriers combined for 153 yards to lead the offense. Harley Race caught 7 for 99 yards and a score to lead the Portland receivers. Arizona drove 75 yards for a TD on their first possession but managed just 96 yards the rest of the game.

Oklahoma beat Memphis 17-10 to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Outlaws would not have been eliminated with a loss, but losing to the team directly in front of them on the playoff ladder would have hurt. The box scores were pretty even, with Oklahoma out gaining Memphis 308-303. The Outlaws ran and threw the ball slightly better than the Showboats, allowing them to score more points for the win. Robert North should have been told his job was in jeopardy earlier, as he responds again by completing 15/20, 226 yards and 2 TDs. Oklahoma took a 17-3 lead on the first play of the 4th qtr while Memphis scored their TD on the last play.

Well I'm halfway through and the sim runs in 11 minutes so this is a good place to save my progress.

Orlando beat New Jersey 31-13, getting the scoring underway with a Pick Six of Eric Hansen by James Hedrick. Orlando would add a FG before the Generals scored 10 straight points to tie the game after 1. Giuseppe Jones ran for 106 yards and a pair of 2nd qtr TDs to give the Renegades control of the game. The scoring closed when Orlando QB Michael Smith threw a 4 yard TD pass to WR Michael Smith. Orlando went to the locker room after the game expecting to still be 1 game behind Jacksonville in the Southeast but...

Nobody told Jacksonville they couldn't just roll out onto the field and beat a team they are better than "on paper" As Chris Berman said "that's why they play the games". Baltimore's offense struggled as usual, gaining just 114 yards but the Stars beat Southeast leading Jacksonville 10-6 anyway. I don't know what happened to William Barron but he was awful, even when he wasn't throwing one of his 5 INTs. He finished the game 28/52, 174 yards and no TDs to go with the 5 picks. Hector Bednar found Lex Luger for a 7 yard TD in the final minute of the first half to give Baltimore a 10-6 lead. The second half was mostly a punt fest with neither team scoring and Baltimore gets the win.

Michigan beat Detroit 45-7 to get one step closer to winning the Midwest. Willie Reddish overcame 2 INTs to throw for 377 yards and 3 TDs while getting 213 yards and 3 more TDs from the running game. Brendan Tullis ran for 113 yards and a TD but Charles Keller was the offensive star, scoring 3 total TDs with 162 combined yards. Keller ran for 68 yards and a score while catching 7 for 94 yards and 2 scores. Every Michigan drive ended with either a TD, FG, INT, or lost fumble...no punts.

Pittsburgh beat Charlotte 21-0 behind 3 Thomas Hampton TD passes. The Maulers running attack combined for 226 yards on 40 carries, led by Kenneth Allen (85 yards) and Christopher Goins (83). Hampton finished 19/31 for 184 yards, no INTs, no sacks, and his 3 TD passes all went to different receivers.

Chicago beat Cleveland 33-0 on what was apparently Marco Anderson Day. Once or twice a season, Anderson goes off for a big game and today was that day as he had a combined 149 yards and 3 TDs. 120 of those yards and 2 scores came on the ground, and for good measure, he added 51 yards on 5 punt returns. I don't usually count special teams in combined yards, and if I did he'd have 200 exactly. Douglas Lee completed 25/32, 166 yards and a TD. The Chicago defense held Cleveland to 86 total yards, sacking Carl Langlois 6 times and intercepting him 4 times with a Pick Six to boot.

Georgia beat Philadelphia 23-14 in a game featuring 17 total sacks. Georgia's Adam Patrick was sacked 10 times, including once for a safety while Joel Jasso was sacked 7 times. When the QBs weren't on the ground, Patrick was better, completing 24/36, 230 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT while Jasso was 17/44, 99 yards and an INT. Harold Mullaney caught both Patrick TD passes. Roy Labarge had 4 sacks and Steven Foster had 3 for Philadelphia while Georgia's David Colosimo had 3 sacks.

Birmingham beat Southern California 9-3. Birmingham got the ball to start the game and took nearly half the quarter to drive for a FG. Southern California took most of the rest of the qtr to score a FG on their opening drive. Birmingham's 2nd drive also ended with a FG for an early 6-3 lead. Not much else happened except a 4th qtr FG for Birmingham, some punts, and a late John Berrios INT as the Stallions go on to win.

Shreveport beat Florida 31-0, sacking Nicholas Meis 7 times. Three sacks resulted in defensive scores as Steven Perez had a strip sack that Charles Gilliam recovered and returned 59 yards for the game's opening score, Timothy Rowell had a sack in the end zone for a safety in the 3rd qtr while Allan Stallings did the same in the 4th. Shreveport wasn't great offensively but they did grind out 294 total yards, running for 137 yards on 41 carries while Michael Applebaum completed 16/21 for 157 yards and a TD.

Week 13 is complete and the playoff picture is getting a little clearer. It's Friday so I'm just going to dive right into the games.

New Orleans improves to 13-0 despite James Wright throwing 3 INTs. While the VooDoo are perfect on the season, their offense is far from perfect and if Wright throws 3 INTs in a playoff game, it could mean trouble. Today though, Wright overcame his mistakes by throwing for 331 yards and 4 TDs. David Ellison caught 2 scores while Nicholas Reyes caught 1 among his 14 for 125 yards. Howard Becker ran for 139 and a score while adding 58 receiving. Defensively the VooDoo sacked Joel Jasso 9 times with Glen Baxter getting 5 himself.

San Antonio beat Los Angeles 36-6. Glenn Graham ran for 160 yards and a TD while catching 11 for 84 yards. Michael Barry chipped in with 100 rushing yards and a 59 yard TD reception. George Warner threw for 242 yards and 3 TDs (1 INT) while the defense forced 5 sacks and 2 turnovers.

Denver beat Detroit 38-0 for their 9th straight win. Kevin Via threw for 280 yards and 2 TDs with Christopher Cook catching 7 for 177 and a TD. Kevin Hillman ran for 93 yards and a TD while Mark Reyes had 62 and 2. Defensively the Gold had 4 sacks, 2 INTs and a fumble recovery.

Washington beat Baltimore 34-9 to take one step closer to winning the Atlantic. Michael Erickson overcame 2 INTs to throw for 290 yards and 2 TDs, spreading the ball around to his receivers. Norman Thomas ran for 129 yards and a TD while William Flock also ran for a TD as Washington got out to a 27-0 2nd qtr lead. Hector Bednar didn't have a bad game despite no help from the rushing attack, as at least he didn't turn the ball over. Bednar finished 24/41, 180 yards and 4 sacks taken.

Michigan beat Chicago in an apparently rainy Silverdome. Idk why they have a weather report for a domed stadium but the weather was 51 degrees and rainy. Willie Reddish overcame 2 INTs to throw for 391 yards and 3 TDs to lead Michigan to the win that clinched the Midwest. Alvin Eckenrode (6-115) and William Barrett (7-109) were 100 yard receivers. Douglas Lee threw a couple of TD passes trying to bring the Blitz back from an early 24-0 deficit but it wasn't enough.

New York beat Tampa Bay 13-9 to clinch the East. Not much to say stat wise as the teams combined for just 396 yards. Jamie Orman had a 4 yard TD pass to Charles Conlon in the 2nd qtr for the game's only TD and the Stars defense kept the Bandits out of the end zone for the win. Carl Gillard's 55 receiving yards for Tampa Bay is the best stat line from the game other than Alton Gross sacking David Fields 3 times for New York.

Jacksonville bounced back from last week with a 48-3 win over Florida. The Bulls runners had 204 yards and a TD on 29 carries while William Barron completed 32/44, 330 yards and 5 TDs. Only Larry Stafford had over 37 receiving yards for the Bulls as he caught 8 for 166 yards and 2 scores. Defensively they sacked Nicholas Meis 9 times, 6 by Walter Reed...not the hospital but Meis might need to go soon as he's been sacked 76 times on the season to lead the league.

Orlando beat Charlotte 34-0 to keep pace with Jacksonville. Rookie Giuseppe Jones ran for 68 yards and a TD to lead the running committee and Michael Smith threw 2 TDs. The Renegades offense wasn't great as Smith also threw 2 INTs but the defense was all over the Hornets today. Charlotte managed just 159 total yards and Keith Carter threw 4 INTs and took 3 sacks.

Birmingham stunned San Jose 22-16 in OT as Barry Stringfellow took the OT kickoff 107 yards for the walk off TD. The Stallions forced OT on a 55 yard Jeffrey Long FG just after the 2 minute warning. San Jose had 358 offensive yards, which is on the low side when they're going good but it would have been over 400 without the 7 sacks Myron Dustin took. He still threw for 378 yards and 2 TDs and Lynn McLaurin caught 16 for 159 yards. Jon Foster took over at QB in place of Russell Gall, and while Foster wasn't good, he wasn't a sack/INT machine either.

Honolulu beat Memphis 27-6 to tighten up the playoff race. Victor Russell threw for 286 yards and 3 TDs, 2 to Fred Thomas who caught 6 for 116 yards in total. The Hawaiians defense forced 6 straight punts by the Memphis offense before they started to force turnovers. They finished the game with 2 INTs, a fumble recovery and 2 sacks. Randy Schmidt caught 5 for 115 yards and a TD for Memphis.

Houston beat Oklahoma 16-10 to bolster their playoff bid. Both defenses did a good job containing the offenses as evidenced by the score. There were only 4 sacks and 1 turnover so there was a lot of good tackling and sound defense being played. The game was tied at 10 after 3 quarters with the Gamblers getting a pair of Tom Overton FGs in the 4th to win the game. Snake Roberts had 100 receiving yards for Houston while Michael Hagler had 101 for Oklahoma.

Arizona stunned Oakland 20-19, winning on a 58 yard Rafael Ray FG as time expired. Arizona jumped out to a 17-7 lead early in the 3rd on John Adams' 2nd TD pass. Adams finished 16/22, 172 yards, 2 TDs and 2 sacks taken. From there, Oakland kicked 4 second half FGs to eventually take a 19-17 lead with 1:51 to play. Arizona needed every bit of clock they had and every yard they got as the 58 yard FG try was close to the limit for any kicker, but the kick went through and put a hurting on the Invaders playoff hopes.

Cleveland stunned Portland 10-9 for their first win of the season. Portland won the first half FG contest 3-1, taking a 9-3 lead into halftime. The score remained 9-3 until inside the 2 minute warning when Carl Langlois found Robert Smalls for a 63 yard TD and the XP gave Cleveland a 10-9 lead. Portland was able to get in position for a 58 yard game winning FG at the gun, but unlike Arizona's Rafael Ray, Aaron David's attempt was no good, and the Thunderbolts finally taste victory.

Pittsburgh needed a late Thomas Hampton TD pass to beat New Jersey 17-13. The Generals took a 13-10 lead earlier in the 4th when Howard Wolowitz intercepted Hampton and took it 11 yards for a TD. Hampton got the scoring underway with a 2nd qtr TD pass to Arthur Ortega with the game winner going to Christopher Goins with 3:20 to play. Andrew Paul ran for 138 of the Maulers 211 rushing yards today.

Shreveport beat Southern California 5-2 in a FG kicking contest today, and translated into football terms, the final score was 15-6. No offensive TDs today although Shreveport QB Michael Applebaum was an efficient 21/25 for 128 yards with 2 sacks taken and Frederick Martin ran for 115 yards. Southern California didn't turn the ball over either but John Barrios took 5 sacks and got no help from the running game. The Steamer find themselves as the current #7 seed.

Boston beat Georgia 10-3 for their 2nd win of the season. Aaron Bush had a 2 yard TD run early in the 2nd qtr for the game's only TD. Felipe Norfleet extended the Breakers lead to 10-0 with a 3rd qtr FG before Georgia got on the board with a FG of their own with 5:11 to play. Adam Patrick was sacked 6 times by Boston, 3 times each by Lemeul Gibson and George Sheehan.
