I figure everyone has their game results by now, but just in case you don't...STOP READING!
The Wildcard games went as expected imo as we have 8 of our best 9 teams in. I don't do power rankings but I have felt all season long that the teams still playing, plus New Orleans and San Jose were the true title contenders.
Any one of the remaining teams are capable of winning 3 more games to take the trophy. Will Houston win their 10th? Will Memphis win their 6th? If one of those two make it, will a National Conference team finally give them an L in the World Bowl?
World Bowl Records *teams still playing only
Houston 9-0
Memphis 5-0
Oklahoma 1-1
Pittsburgh 1-1
Orlando 0-1
Birmingham 0-1
Philadelphia 0-1
Michigan 0-0
I still plan on looking at the final regular season stats and I'll probably get to that sometime this weekend, especially since I got knocked out of 2 playoffs last night and have some extra time.
Best of luck to all 8 teams still playing, no matter what happens, you've all had awesome seasons and should be proud of the job you've done. Sadly only one of you will earn the right to be called 2006 World Bowl Champion, and the other seven will be disappointed. Just try not to be too disappointed because there is absolutely no shame in losing to any of the remaining opponents.
