Week 2We have 10 teams start 2-0 and 10 teams start 0-2
The South and Southwest divisions have a pair of 2-0 teams while all other divisions have 1
The South is the only division in which every team has a win while the West, Atlantic, and East all have a pair of 0-2 teams
Birmingham leads the league in scoring with 86 points
Arizona leads the league in scoring defense, allowing 6 points so far.
Honolulu is off to a 2-0 start. The Hawaiians were the last undefeated team last season before struggling down the stretch, will things turn out differently this season?
Philadelphia had 502 passing yards against the league's 32nd ranked New Jersey defense. Joel Jasso threw for 492 yards and 3 TDs but his arm must have got tired because Bryant Smith also threw 7 passes, completing 2 for 10 yards.
WR Roderick Uribe had another big game as well, catching 7 for 169 and 2 of Jasso's 3 TD passes. The other TD went to Alfredo Montoya, who caught 10 for 142 yards.
New Jersey's defensive players act like they're playing blindfolded. 997 yards allowed in 2 games. We give up the most passing yards, next to last in yards per catch and dead last in yards per carry. We are #1 in fewest rushing attempts against us, but that's because it's so easy to pass on us right now.
We spent a boat load of money to bring in QB Kevin Via, and so far it's not good. He's throwing a lot but has a low completion percentage and yards per attempt. In the red zone is where our drives go to die and even our kicker is struggling, making just 3/5 FGs so far.
Portland has been a perennial World Bowl contender but they almost fumbled their way to an 0-2 start, needing a 4th qtr TD to get past Oakland 17-16.
Oklahoma is off to a 2-0 start, although this week's win wasn't as impressive on the scoreboard as last week. Probably because Florida used an actual punter.
The NY Stars evened their record at 1-1 with an impressive defensive showing against the Denver Gold. The Stars jumped out to a 20-0 1st half lead then held on as the Gold could manage just 94 offensive yards.
Orlando is now 2-0 thanks to Dwayne Byrd's 351 passing yards and 2 TDs. The Renegades also scored on 2 fumbles...one was defensive as they sacked Jacksonville's QB in the end zone, where he fumbled and the defense pounced on the loose ball. The other one screwed Lyle Opitz out of a punt return TD. He fumbled the punt but recovered it and took it to the house.
Pittsburgh held off a late Baltimore rally to win 24-19. Maulers QB Brian White was 12/22 for 211 yards, pedestrian numbers yes. Most of those yards were to Patrick Howard as he caught 8 for 187 yards and 2 TDs, leaving just 24 yards for everyone else. Baltimore got behind 24-10 before they started to rally behind QB Jerry Parker. They settled for some FGs and then ran out of time as they approached the red zone looking for the game winning TD.
Cleveland got past Southern California 21-13 thanks to red zone efficiency. The Thunderbolts scored TDs on all 3 red zone trips while the Sun only got 13 points from 4 trips.
San Jose was shutout in the first half as they refused to punt, turning it over on downs every drive but two. One drive was the end of the half and the other ended with an INT. Los Angeles started 5 first half drives in SaberCat territory but couldn't bury them as they only managed a 6-0 lead at the half. In the 2nd half, it was Los Angeles turning it over five times...twice on downs, twice on fumbles and an INT. Meanwhile, San Jose scored a couple TDs and won the game 14-6.
Michigan is 2-0 this season with 2 different owners and Panthers fans have to hope Action Jackson sticks around to stop the owner carousel. Hellbringer owned the team for the first 24 seasons before all the turnover the last 9 seasons. Speaking of twos, the Panthers had a pair of RBs rush for at least 86 yards. The Michigan defense also played well, shutting out Chicago's offense as the Blitz TD came on a kickoff return.
Washington outlasted Georgia in a defensive struggle that saw both teams combine for just 342 offensive yards. The Federals scored the first and last TD for their 14 points while the Force had a couple of FGs and a 75 yard TD run. Outside of that long run, Georgia managed just 51 other yards, thanks in large part to 73 lost yards on 9 sacks of QB Adam Patrick. There were 21 total punts and just 15 first downs as the teams combined to go 4/35 on 3rd down.
Break up the Birmingham Stallions. Russell Gall threw 3 more TD passes, 2 to Arnold Griego while the Stallions defense intercepted Willie Graham 5 times as they put it to the VooDoo 40-13.
We are only in Week 2 but Shreveport has already doubled their 2005 win total with their 2nd win this season. The Steamer defense led the way today, holding Detroit to 198 total yards, 4 rushing yards on 15 carries and recording 9 sacks, three of them resulting in safeties. Idk if the 3 safeties are a record, but it's impressive nonetheless.
Tampa Bay beat San Antonio despite scoring zero TDs and allowing 2. The Gunslingers took an early 7-0 lead before QB Dylan Shultz threw 3 INTs. The Bandits started 5 drives in Gunslinger territory, and while they didn't score any TDs, Samuel Oakes made all 7 FGs he tried and the Bandits led 21-7. They gave up another TD but held on for the victory.
The Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Boston Red Sox 8-6 on a 2 run...wait a minute. The Arizona Wranglers won a football game over the Boston Breakers by a baseball score of 8-6. No TDs were scored and the FG contest ended 2-2, but the Wranglers got a safety on an end zone sack and that was the difference as the Wranglers are off to a 2-0 start.
Houston beat Memphis 45-17 thanks to an oversight by Showboat ownership and a parade of blocked punts. I won't belabor the point further, it has been discussed elsewhere and addressed. Memphis might be 0-2 even with a punter, we'll never know but they did put up 458 yards on the Gamblers defense. They have 2 of their 4 toughest games out of the way already and are still a strong enough team to make a playoff push.
Randy Savage had a good game for Houston with 139 total yards and 3 TDs as the champs are off to a 2-0 start.

Joel Jasso (Philadelphia) and Russell Gall (Birmingham) are head and shoulders ahead of the QB pack, especially in QBR. Jasso leads the league in passing yards by 146 already, and he's 2 yards ahead of Gall in yards per attempt. The only reason Gall has a higher QBR (131.54-124.34) is the zero INTs he's thrown versus the 3 Jasso has.
Four QBs have been sacked at least 13 times already
Matthew Goebel (WR) of Pittsburgh leads the league in rushing with 188 yards
Roderick Uribe (Philadelphia) already has 405 receiving yards and 5 TDs
