...
I created a custom league in December 2018.
I've delayed the sim ever since.
Initially and ironically - because of league oversaturation and just every noob created a new league for a bit.
The last couple-ish years though, it has been becuase the MFN player pool continues to decrease.
And y'all keep on creating leagues because running 4+ is not enough satisfaction.
Not bashing, please don't take the probable offense created by that last statement.
in 2022, the player pool has gravitated towards the cosistent and long term admins. Admins with experience. I used to run 2 leagues, 1 closed from lack of players. Lots of admins can say basically the same thing - I used to run more leagues than I do today.
Just the facts lol (cue stranger things theme).
(EDIT: I must add the one I have the pleasure of continuing to administrate, is healthier and livlier than it has been in years past. I owe it to the GMs, no doubt!)
What we do have is a hard-core group of players dedicated to helping any new person that asks, and frustrated by a lack of communication and let's be honest:
An improvement to the excitement factor.
I think that's a pretty good summation of where we are and a large enough bucket to toss all of our game mechanics issues into. Pardon me for breaking my arm with the self-ego-flagellation :P
From a "marketing of the new player base" point, continuing to rehash the things we don't like, certainly decreases new player retention.
We have had some improvements in just the last few months - such as the ability for administrators to reset dead cap insteaad of having ownership be the middleman.
The old farts like me that aint left yet, are likely to continue for a bit longer. I'm not the only one who takes unique, high quality games with low profits and plays them until they die.
I know some of you too well LMAO!
See ya on the other side of darkness, mis compadres!
