I favor a laissez faire approach when it comes to trades. Ultimately, no matter what the trade bar says, if the team owners are happy, that's what matters. If someone feels like a trade is unfair, don't make the trade.
that would work if it wasnt for several ways to take major advantage of it, like having someone sign up and take a team strictly for trade advantage purpose, or multi's. In some cases there may be only one team owner really involved.
Thats right, cant use the same IP, so what would they do to get around that? Simple, different IP's, no big deal.
Here is an example that screams of cheating. Ive mentioned the similartiy between owners names that end with four numbers. I just joined Custom 17 and am undertaking a rebuild of one of the worst,if not the worst teams in the MFN realm, Denver. I was told the previous owner "tanked" the team and dumped top players to FA. Anyway, am looking to make trades when I become eligible to do so, on Aug 20th. In the meantime Ive been looking at the other teams in the league for trade potential. One of the teams, New England, did not make a lot of sense to me and then when I looked at their history, it made a lot of sense. Division Champs in 2020 season, dropped by the owner jsid, then picked up by Ky3217 who promptly traded away top players then had a 5-11 season in 2021 with zero trades/transactions since. I was about to send "Ky" a message, but then decided not to because I am concerned that there is no "Ky" and is actually a mutliple account of one owner using a different IP. How would one go about verifying something like that? What if the IPs were located at same address or area? Or, what if someone had a relative or friend who lives in another area or wherever, had them sign up to enable the control of that team for trade purposes.
I hope this is not what is going on, but I dont see a rational explanation for it. Yeah, you could say it was an inexperienced owner taking over a good team and did not know what to do. But, I dont think so, and again, there is the four numbers at the end of the owner name, like jl1980. Has anyone seen any posts or messages from these players? The owner who controls them could do so, but I doubt they would go to that length and trouble to cover their tracks.
Users that have the same IP cannot trade, so if they are doing that then they have to find some way around the IP issue.
