http://mfn2.myfootballnow.com/watch/3991#733305This game is a great example of many of the problems with the passing game and may hopefully help shed light on some of its issues.
*The Oakland QB's stat-line: 44/68, 486yds, 3td, 3int, sacked 3 times.
They literally ran the ball once all game. I keyed my defense in on the pass and played pass defense every play. Play in and play out the WR's catch passes in tight man coverage against guys with high punish receiver stats. The QB consistently threw accurate passes into tight coverage with defenders hanging off him. Not sure what you can do against this, I knew exactly what he was going to do, but with the RNG it didn't matter.
*Baltimore QB stat-line: 13/30, 248 yds, 2td, 3int, sacked 8 times
We kept the offense somewhat balanced early on with run+pass, though neither were very successful against the constant blitz. Oakland literally blitzed every play and I knew it, but I couldn't stop it. My QB panics and gets phantom sacked multiple times. My very good Offensive line is consistently incapable of blocking much less talented pass rushers, and my QB even got sacked 3 times by a slow CB with 18 pass rush. When the pressure got close my QB couldn't throw at all accurately and would miss open guys regularly. With maxed out Field Vision he still somehow couldn't spot the open guys even when staring at that side of the field.
*The worst part is, that in my opinion Baltimore's QB is a little better, but watching the game you would think it was Tom Brady against Brian Hoyer.
I suppose you could say I was out-gameplanned, but man.... If I know exactly what you're gonna do and put everything into that and still can't stop it....it just doesn't feel right.(It would be one thing if the opposing players were much more talented than mine, but we were pretty closely matched in alot of ways.)
