I'm planning on doing Week 6 tonight but plans can change. The good news is, if I get lazy and don't do it, my afternoon is free tomorrow. Maybe I'll do a stat review tonight and recaps tomorrow or vice versa. I haven't written much if anything about stats so far this season.

I could just power through now but I need a break and I want to give you guys a chance to read the previous post before I throw more at you.

Week 6 is complete and scoring was way down from Week 5. One game that helped was we had Los Angeles playing Arizona so we have 1 team with no real punter playing a team not using a real placekicker. I won't spend much time on that game. The four 5-0 teams all won to improve to 6-0, congrats to San Jose, San Antonio, New Orleans, and Boston.

Week 7 will see one of our winless teams get a win unless they tie as Detroit faces Cleveland for the first time.

New Orleans beat Georgia 31-9 behind 250 yards and 2 TDs from QB James Wright. Jacob Becker led the team in rushing (7-72-1) and receiving (8-98). Defensively, they sacked Adam Patrick 4 times and intercepted him twice. New Orleans led 24-0 after 3 qtrs before Georgia chipped away too little too late.

San Jose beat Detroit 42-9 as Lynn McLaurin came close to breaking his own single game reception record. McLaurin caught 24 passes today for 175 yards and 2 TDs, falling 1 short of his record of 25 he set in 2010. Myron Dustin completed 50/75, 468 yards, 4 TDs, and 4 INTs. Perry Nelson caught 4 for 121 and a TD while the running committee had 108 yards and 2 TDs. Defensively, they had 6 sacks and held the Wheels to 62 total yards.

San Antonio scored the last 33 points of the game in a 40-5 win over Oakland. San Antonio scored first on a George Warner TD pass before Oakland kicked a FG and sacked Warner in the end zone to make the score 7-5 in the 1st. San Antonio added 2 more 1st qtr TDs for an early 21-5 lead and their defense made sure the Invaders offense was done for the day. Domingo Robinson ended up with 3 INTs and 2 sacks taken. George Warner threw 2 INTs of his own but he also had 384 yards passing with 3 TDs. Michael Barry had himself a game with 3 combined TDs. Barry led the team in rushing (59 yards and a TD) and receiving, catching 9 for 148 yards and 2 TDs. Jessie Anderson caught the other TD among his 6 for 117 yards.

Boston improves to 6-0 with a 16-9 win over Southeast leading Jacksonville. The Bulls running committee had 179 yards on 27 carries while Boston's had 136 and a TD on 42 carries. The problems for Jacksonville came when trying to pass, as William Barron was 15/34, 153 yards, 2 INTs and 3 sacks taken. It was a 9-6 Boston lead after 3 qtrs before Frederick Martin's 3 yard TD run early in the 4th gave the Breakers a 16-6 lead. Jacksonville would drive for a FG but took over 7 minutes to do it and they turned it over on downs on their last drive as Boston hangs on for the win.

Washington beat Houston 30-24 in a game where Dale Baber showed he is human after all. One week after Baber and Randy Savage changed the record book, Baber was intercepted 5 times by the Federals. Houston ran the ball great as Rob Van Dam had 139 yards and a TD while Snake Roberts added 79 and a score. Houston led 24-14 at the half but 4 of Baber's INTs came in a scoreless second half and they also lost a fumble as Washington chipped away at the lead. They had tied the game at 24 by the end of the 3rd and a pair of 4th qtr FGs won it for the Federals. William Flock had a 109 yard kickoff return TD and Norman Thomas ran for 88 yards and a TD.

Oklahoma outlasted Memphis 27-24 for their 5th straight win. Stephen Morrow threw for 310 yards and 2 TD passes as the Outlaws took an early 21-0 lead and led 24-3 at the half. Memphis chipped away at the lead in the 3rd, as Curtis Reed sacked Morrow at the 2, caused a fumble that trickled into the end zone where Reed fell on it for a TD. Gary Westerfield then threw a TD pass and the score was 24-17 going to the 4th. Nobody scored until Westerfield's 2nd TD pass with 1:36 to play, tying the game at 24. Morrow then drove the Outlaws into FG range where Daniel Beaupre's 30 yard FG at the gun gave Oklahoma the win.

Michigan beat Denver 20-19 in a battle of division leaders. It was a back and forth game with a lot of defense, with Michigan getting 5 sacks and an INT while Denver had 2 sacks, an INT and 2 fumble recoveries. Denver scored first on a Nathaniel Adams 10 yard run before Michigan scored 10 straight for a 10-7 lead. Denver scored the next 10 points for a 17-10 halftime lead. Michigan scored 10 in the 3rd for a 20-17 lead then Denver sacked Willie Reddish in the end zone to make the score 20-19 with most of the 4th qtr to play. The Gold offense couldn't get into scoring position and the score remained 20-19 until the end of the game. Willie Reddish threw 2 TD passes and Jimmie Martin caught 4 for 110 yards and a TD for Michigan. Kevin Hillman led Denver in rushing (36 yards) and receiving, catching 14 for 162 yards.

Pittsburgh won the battle of Pennsylvania 21-16 over Philadelphia. There were no great stat lines in this game despite both offenses having several long drives as they spread the ball around. The teams even alternated scoring, with Pittsburgh scoring a TD for a 7-0 lead then Philadelphia tied it at 7. Pittsburgh scored another TD while Philadelphia answered with a FG. Pittsburgh scored a 3rd TD then Philadelphia scored a TD but failed on the 2 point try and that's the scoring. The last score came on the first play of the 4th, then the teams alternated mistakes. Pittsburgh was intercepted, Philadelphia missed a FG, Pittsburgh missed a FG, Philadelphia was intercepted, then we had a punt and the end of the game. Thomas Hampton had the best stat line, throwing for 284 yards and 2 TDs.

Southern California beat Honolulu 27-3, turning the Pacific into a 3 team race. The Hawaiians may have been tired from blocking all those punts last week but Sun QB Michael Broughton threw 3 TD passes for the second straight week. Broughton finished 19/37, 303 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs, with Larry White catching 4 for 125 yards and a score. The ball carriers combined for 127 yards for the Sun and the defense had 3 sacks, an INT and a fumble recovery.

Chicago beat Portland 16-13 to keep pace with Michigan in the Midwest. Douglas Lee found Marco Anderson for a 14 yard TD pass in the 1st for a 7-0 lead. From there it was a FG contest until the 4th where the score was 16-6 Chicago. Curtis Torres found Harley Race for an 18 yard TD pass with 4:40 to play, cutting the lead to 16-13. Portland would get the ball back but couldn't quite get into FG range, turning it over on downs at midfield.

Orlando beat Florida 13-6 after spotting the Blazers an early 6-0 lead. Michael Smith completed 25/30, 243 yards and a 3rd qtr TD pass to Michael Cousar for the game's only TD. Cousar finished with 7 catches, 104 yards and that TD. Florida moved the ball well early but the Renegades defense stiffened as they improve to 3-3.

New Jersey improves to 4-2 with a 16-6 win over Cleveland. The Generals once again go without an offensive TD, although Jesse Pinkman ran for 159 yards. Howie "Stump" Schwab made 3 FGs and Jax Teller had a 41 yard Pick Six in the 4th to finally pull away from the Thunderbolts. The New Jersey defense had 2 sacks and 2 INTs.

Birmingham beat Shreveport 21-7 in a defensive struggle. Scott Nolte got the Steamer on the board with a 6 yard TD pass to Robert Lavender for a 7-0 lead. Birmingham kicked a 2nd qtr FG to make the score 7-3, where it stayed until the 4th. Birmingham added another FG to cut the score to 7-6. Birmingham finally got a TD with 2:51 left when Gary May ran it in from 5 yards out and Barry Stringfellow ran in the 2 point play. Scott Nolte tried to bring the Steamer back but Joseph Bell had other ideas, intercepting Nolte and returning it 44 yards for a TD. Birmingham is now 3-2-1 and just traded for Macho Man Randy Savage in an attempted playoff run.

New York beat Tampa Bay 31-9 for their first win of the season. Sleepy Sandmann ran for 71 yards and 2 TDs to lead the Stars offense that had a balanced attack. New York ran for 145 yards and 3 TDs while Jamie Orman threw for 164 yards and a TD, taking 1 sack. The Stars forced 3 turnovers and had 3 sacks. It was just a 14-9 New York lead late in the 3rd but a 17 point surge in the final 16 minutes makes the game look like a blowout.

Baltimore beat Charlotte 23-9 for their first win of the season. It wasn't pretty on either side as Hector Bednar was intercepted 3 times while Keith Carter was intercepted 4 times. Bednar got Baltimore on the scoreboard first with a 15 yard TD pass to William McLendon. A few FGs later and we're into the 3rd with Baltimore leading 10-6. Keith Carter was intercepted by Joshua Lemmon, who returned it 29 yards for a Pick Six, increasing Baltimore's lead to 17-6. The rest of the game was FGs, with Baltimore getting 2 of the 3 to win 23-9.

Arizona beat Los Angeles 19-9. If the Express could have kept the Wranglers out of the end zone they might have won as Arizona's non kicker kickers finished 0/4 on FGs and 1/3 in XPs. It's kind of hard to keep teams out of the end zone though when your punter is your kicker. I've already said too much about this game between 2 absentee owners.

I apologize for skipping the last couple of games, sometimes it's hard to find the motivation to do write-ups. Thankfully we don't have any real drama here, other than I'm afraid we're going to continue to have punt blocks for now. The new L.A. owner is literally a brand new MFN user so I sent him a PM about his punting situation. It's sitting unread as he hasn't logged back in since originally signing up and there were no transactions for his team, so it's likely nothing changes.

We also will be losing Big Poppa in 2 weeks unless he changes his mind about not renewing his subscription. Seems to be a lot of that going around as I think many, including myself are frustrated by the UI still being **** all around and pretty much unusable on mobile, not to mention total lack of any game engine progress. Gustoon, commish of NFL League, is calling it quits, actively looking for someone to take over for him.

While I do play in that league as an original owner, I'm not taking it over. I would not under any circumstance now, but as a kicker, the players in that league expect custom rules. They complain about DE playing DT FFS (for f***s sake). Forget about using a WR to run the ball unless he's like your RB 3 or 4. Now that Gus is leaving, I may leave that league as well, depends on who takes over, if anyone.

I'm also not following suit on leaving MFN. I'm staying because of this league and XFL but I am getting tired of paying for a crappy product. I'm holding out hope we'll see game engine changes start soon but that hope gets smaller everyday the UI is still not right. I get that MFN is a 1 man show but now that he's asking for money for his product, do we not expect at least a certain level of quality? At least we should now, he's had 6 months.

Idk if you guys read the general forums but CSB/WitchHunter is up to his old tricks, always looking for the negative even when it's not even there. He went after Seth because Seth dared to ask JDB to work on the game engine. Then he says he got death threats smdh. If true, that's pathetic on his enemy's part, but I get it. CSB/WH is thankfully one of a kind but he is usually just way over the top.

Venting time is over, thanks for listening.

Oh, one more thing before I talk football. I don't know how I'll be this weekend but I expect it to be busy so I may not get back to the grind until Monday. We have 2 drivers who won't be around this weekend due to vacations. One vacation was voluntary, one was not and his court date isn't until the 30th. I suppose if he does somehow show up, he'll be wearing an ankle monitor but afaik he's still in jail.

Now on to a little bit of actual football. We're 9 games in and while we have a few dominant teams, the wildcard races will be fire. The American Conference has just 1 division that's within 1 game but there are 9 teams with winning records for only 7 playoff spots.

San Jose finally lost a game but they are still 8-1 and first in the Pacific. Honolulu is right behind them at 7-2 while Southern California is 5-4. The Sun are currently tied with Chicago and Houston for the 7th seed while the Hawaiians are the top wildcard. The new L.A. owner is new to MFN so should he log in and ask some questions, please help him out.

Denver leads the West with a 6-3 record, 2 games ahead of 4-5 Portland. The Storm would currently be out of the playoffs but they are just 1 game out with 7 to play. Oakland has lost 6 in a row to fall to 2-7, along with 2-7 Arizona, who have had their placekicker on ice all season as a few position players make a mockery of things.

San Antonio has a 3 game lead in the Southwest as they have separated from the pack. Usually this division is up for grabs until the end of the season but I don't see that being the case this season. Oklahoma was trying to keep pace but they are now 6-3 with an injured QB they just traded for. Houston has had an up and down season at 5-4. One week Dale Baber and company are setting records and scoring 94 points while the next week the INTs flow. Memphis is 3-6, plagued by inconsistent QB and defensive play but their schedule lightens up down the stretch as they have already been swept by San Antonio, as has the entire league so far.

Michigan is 7-2, first in the Midwest. They have a 2 game lead on Chicago that is essentially 3 since they just completed the sweep with a 55-0 win. The Blitz are 5-4 though, tied for the current 7th seed and their remaining schedule has some winnable games. Cleveland (1-8) and Detroit (0-9) are having rough seasons.

The National Conference also has 9 teams with a winning record but they also have 3 divisions within 1 game.

The Southeast is a 3 team race, currently led by 6-3 Jacksonville. Right behind the Bulls are the 5-4 Tampa Bay Bandits and Orlando Renegades. This division race should be fun to watch down the stretch. Florida is 1-8 as they have issues keeping their QB upright.

New Orleans leads the South with a 9-0 record, 3.5 games ahead of 5-3-1 Birmingham. San Antonio has a better point differential but New Orleans has allowed a league low 57 points this season. There are only 5 teams that have allowed less than 100 but the VooDoo could allow 30 next game and still be assured of #1.

The other teams allowing less than 100 points in 9 games are Washington (88), San Antonio (94), New Jersey (95), and Honolulu (97).

Back to the South division and Birmingham is in wildcard contention. The tie could work in their favor at the end of the season. If the season ended now, the tie would help, as they would edge out 5-4 Tampa and Orlando. Shreveport is 3-5-1 and generally struggles to score, though they recently beat Oakland 41-34. Georgia just beat Shreveport 9-3 to improve to 2-7.

Pittsburgh is 8-1, first in the Atlantic with a 1 game lead on Washington (7-2). Washington won the first meeting with the second coming Week 13. Additionally, both teams still have both undefeated teams left on their schedules. Charlotte (2-7) and Baltimore (1-8) are struggling.

Boston started off 7-0 before losing their last 2 games. The first loss was a 2 point OT loss to Chicago and they just lost to New Jersey on a TD in the final minute. Their remaining schedule looks to have enough winnable games on it for the Breakers to make a rare post season appearance (26-37 record of remaining opponents). New Jersey (6-3) got within a game of first with that win over Boston and the Generals will play the Breakers again later. New Jersey is winning with defense as they have yet to score more than 19 points in any game. Philadelphia (3-6) and New York (2-7) are both having their worst seasons in recent memory.

Busy weekend at work being down 2 drivers. One more rough night as we're down 1 driver tonight as he's going to the Bengals game. Hopefully we'll start to get back to normal soon and I'm hoping to catch up on some things tomorrow around here.

Wildcard races are tight and everyone has lost except for New Orleans. The VooDoo have allowed just 63 points so far, which explains zero losses. Hard to lose when you don't give up points.

Speaking of not giving up points, how are my Generals second stingiest? We've allowed 20 points once and scored more than 20 just once. Our offense stinks, 19th in yards but we're plus 7 in turnover margin. Defense is currently ranked 4th, which is a stark improvement from last year's 28th ranked unit. Some of that is schedule related as in 2011 we faced the Southwest division.

We have 3 divisions with 2 teams tied at the top. In the Pacific, San Jose and Honolulu are tied at 8-2. They can't get too comfortable in relation to a playoff spot as there is no guarantee 2nd place gets one. There are 8 teams 6-4 or better in the conference and 2 more teams 5-5 so it probably takes 11 wins to be secure.

Jacksonville and Orlando are tied atop the Southeast with 6-4 records with Tampa Bay right behind at 5-5. The Bandits are 9th in the conference, behind 8 teams over .500.

New Jersey and Boston are tied atop the East with 7-3 records. They both win with defense and ball control and still have a game left to play against each other.

Omg you can't say b.a.l.l.s.

But hey, new UI or something.
