GG Georgia, for almost 3 quarters you were in control of the game and it seemed I would lose because my offense just couldn't get much going, especially on the ground. Your defense seemed to know what was coming, most likely due to game planning on your part.
Speaking of which, your offense was one of the most difficult for me to game plan for. Most teams have some kind of imbalance in their offense, either some personnel group goes unused or is too pass or run heavy. I know my offense falls into that category as I don't use the goal line formation among other things. When I chart opposing offenses, I don't chart 4 or 5 WR sets as those are always pass plays. The rest I breakdown into the 5 play types (outside/inside runs, short/med/long passes) and look for patterns and set my defense accordingly. That's hard to do when the plays are distributed relatively even, especially the pass plays. I can see why Georgia is a Force to be reckoned with in 1975.
Back to our sloppy game, aka defensive struggle. Idk what it was about this morning's sims, but the turnover right after a turnover was a trend in most of my 5 games, but geez. 12 combined turnovers? The biggest one for me was Gilbert getting a strip sack in the end zone and Lockette's recovery of that giving me the lead I wouldn't relinquish. Then following that with another strip sack/1 play TD drive put the stranglehold on the game's momentum.
I'm loving the way my defense has been playing lately as they deserve a lot of the credit for my 5-1 start.
