Ok. Must’ve been the beer. I was about to freak out I’ve been doing it wrong for years. Lol.

Take an OL, with 5 categories of importance, 7 if you count intelligence/discipline.

If you put strength, pass blocking, and run blocking at 100 and the rest at 50, you have this:

500 total rating points (100 each for strength, pass/run blocking plus 50*4 speed, acceleration, intelligence/discipline.

The 100 strength equals 20% of the total points. The same ratio for all cats would be strength 20, pass blocking 20, run blocking 20, and 10 each for the other 4.

I use

Primary attribute 100
2nd 73
3rd 45
4th 32
5th 20
6th 5
Rest 1

So for example my QB ratings

Pass accuracy 100
Intelligence 73
Field of vision 45
Look off defense 45
Speed 32
Arm strength 32
Scramble 32
Pass release 20
Hard count 5
Other 1

Not counting the other, CJ's QB ratings use 384 points. If you base it on a total of 100, they would look like this:

Pass accuracy 26
Intelligence 19
Field of vision 12
Look off defense 12
Speed 8
Arm strength 8
Scramble 8
Pass release 5
Hard count 1

My point is adding it up to 100 isn't the only way to do it....I use different ratings because some attributes are more important then others.

For instance RB

Speed, ball carry, break tackle and avoid fumble are all important but if you set them all to 100 then you will get slow RB rated high with the other 3 attributes maxed out. A RB with 100 ball carry...break tackle....avoid fumble with 50 speed is next to useless at RB (total 350).....However a RB with 100 speed and 50 ball carry...break tackle and avoid fumble could be an allpro (total 250).

I guess I never thought of it that way. I max out everything I think it critical and things I can love with less. Like avoid fumble. I have that at 50.

Good info to know.

Clearly there are many ways to set player weights......My original point was that I spent over a year tinkering and changing my weights.....and with each change....I had to reevaluate my roster because players I thought were good suddenly were not!

It wasn't until I established my final player weights that I was truly able to build solid rosters and start winning consistently.

The default player weights are a nightmare for new owners and plenty of bad trades has resulted. I really believe establishing a new set of default player weights would help new owners

1st, 2nd and 3rd rounder all boomed (+8,+4,+1)

After that I had my 4th and 5th bust hard (-10,-11) and my 6th rounder flat lined.

All in all great camp with starting RB...WR...and depth at CB

Panther's camp was successful. All boomed except one which was a +/- 0. Found a decent CB in the 5th round.

My training camp couldn't have gone worse, every player except the 6th and 7th rounders busted. My 1st round TE -9, 3rd round RB -2, 3rd round DE -6, 4th round SS -10, and 5th round DE -5.
