no man ive done my own which is probably worse :) i did read seth last player weight suggestions but i cant understand the primary thing the figures i understand his reasoning behind attributes for each skill, but i dont know the factors or primary, secondary, tertiary levels.

ive simplified mine and tried to keep things as near to seths reasoning on attributes but just make sure all my totals add up to 100. eg player a main skill id rate 40% the second and third skills id put 27 and 25 and the next 8 skills would get 1 point each so his weights system would add up to 100

I have my weights add up to 100 or 101 myself. Some, I added the 1, like hard count for QB or long snapping for all OL.

Volatility is 376/600

I use

Primary attribute 100
2nd 73
3rd 45
4th 32
5th 20
6th 5
Rest 1

So for example my QB ratings

Pass accuracy 100
Intelligence 73
Field of vision 45
Look off defense 45
Speed 32
Arm strength 32
Scramble 32
Pass release 20
Hard count 5
Other 1

I like it. 402/700. A little low for me. Probably got confused since paydirt was drafting at the same time and I got lost in the war rooms.

Wait. Weight. Hold on. Are you telling me the weights for my positions should add up to 100???? I max out all attributes I think are critical for each position. Is this not the correct way to use weights???

Nvmd. That’s as CJs break down of his.

so champ like in seths explanation why these numbers??i understand pass acc int and field of vision should be rated higher than the rest, and they are still even in my method.but in my thinking if we are talking percentages that means out of 100 so why have a number thats adds up to 276??why not go higher on all these skills??

im not being argumentitive i just dont understand,i could just copy seth recomendations without understanding why and will probably get more accurate ratings but whether using larger numbers thats add up to 276 or numbers that add up to 100 as long as split works out what you want does it make a big difference.maybe we can share numbers on our rookie traing camp tomorrow bud to see how different our weights make our ratings for each player.stay safe speak soon really appreciate everyone offering advice i always wanna learn and improve :)

The numbers in weights end up being ratios no matter which numbers you use. If you use 100 for all key attributes, they still end up being used as a ratio.

Take an OL, with 5 categories of importance, 7 if you count intelligence/discipline.

If you put strength, pass blocking, and run blocking at 100 and the rest at 50, you have this:

500 total rating points (100 each for strength, pass/run blocking plus 50*4 speed, acceleration, intelligence/discipline.

The 100 strength equals 20% of the total points. The same ratio for all cats would be strength 20, pass blocking 20, run blocking 20, and 10 each for the other 4.

TL;DR An OL with weights of 100 strength, pass blocking, and run blocking plus 50 in speed, acceleration, intelligence, and discipline is the same as an OL with weights of 20-20-20-10-10 respectively.
