Pennant Chase is free and simple. It is fairly realistic, but not 100 percent. For instance, there are only two off days built into the schedule, so your No. 5 starter gets almost as many innings as your No. 1. You do have access to historical players from every era.
Hardball Dynasty is expensive and immersive, with farm systems, player development at every level, and many, many complexities. Players are generated by the game, not real life players. But, if you win your league, you've really earned it (and reward points that you can use to pay for future seasons).
