I'm doing the blog and just saw Arizona got a TD on a punt block. Back when we had discussions about Mark McKeon and his 10 sacks a game, I made a rule that DL had to weigh 265 lbs, including for the front 4 on punt block.

I screwed up by not including the proper language in the sticky post, sorry but I never went to law school. This needs to be cleared up.

BTW, the punter who had his punt blocked is rated 100 in all 3 attributes so we can't blame poor punt timing.

This would be the first league where LBs are also forbidden as ST Rushers.
All other leagues I'm playing have restrictions on 237 lbs only regardless of speed.

Following that you must have a depth of at least 10 defensive linemen to prevent AI to put in a LB as injury substitute.

Judging by the poll results so far, LB will be allowed as long as their speed is less than 80. That was the original intent of the rule.

It's also mainly for the front 4, the prime punt block positions.

The front 4 are recruited out of the ST Rushers chart. Only if this chart is lacking personnel, AI will take substitutes out of the Gunners chart. Ergo you do need at least 10 defensive linemen weighing 265 lbs or more. Or a bunch of slow LBs if that option will apply.

To be honest, that's way too restrictive. Punt blocks shouldn't be impossible. Rules are getting crazy and need to be simple and easy to implement/monitor.

As Admin you shouldn't have to and undoubtedly don't want to or have the time to monitor this for 32 teams and continue to get enjoyment from the game.

Possible solutions.

1. Switch the League to the BETA engine, Punt blocks are rare and anyone can line up including Secondary. Rosters across BETA leagues are much more balanced as speed is no longer the be all/end all - but you may/will lose some owners who don't like BETA

2. Leave it as is

3. Introduce weight restrictions and/or increase speed restrictions

4. PM JDB and try to find out the likelihood of the 'fix' that works in BETA can be applied to 0.4.5 and if so, when he plans to implement it.

5. Something else?



From a personal point of view and accepting that I've been in the League less than everyone else. I'm now in too many Leagues with differing rules and would likely respectfully leave the team as it's getting to be too much for my simple brain to keep up with.

Two of his blockers, Finch (28) and Ratner (37), have very low speed, maybe a 80 speed Rusher would win too.
Why does not make my fastest rusher the hit, maybe his opponent have speed to cover him.
Against others teams I have no success in punt blocking.
BTW how many punt blocks I have had in two seasons so far ?

I do not like exploids too and I like clear rules in order to cover.
There is no intention in cheating on my side.

According to the rules as written, you did nothing wrong. Had I written them correctly in the first place, this wouldn't have happened.
