Re: QB Experiment

I figure my team is going to be awful for the next two seasons, so I might as well try out some experiments. Here's the first one I'm working on.

I have an idea that Accuracy isn't really that important to QBs if they have a high enough Intelligence in 0.4.3. I haven't actually tested this yet, but it makes logical sense. Here's why:

1) Intelligence determines who to throw to based on the receivers the QB can see (FOV)
2) Release controls the time it takes the QB to throw once making a decision
3) Arm determines the velocity
4) Accuracy is a complex formula that I'm not going to go into, but involves play knowledge that is aided by Intelligence

So if a QB can find the open WR, decide to throw immediately, and throw hard, low Accuracy is minimized.

In steps Andrew Reece .

Reece was a bust for Georgia, but he's the perfect QB to try what I'm going to try and do with him. He has all of the QB attributes except Accuracy.

Ideal Season Goal
* 60% completion, 3:1 TD:INT ratio

Realistic Season Goal
*50% completion, 2:1 TD:INT ratio

Likely to happen
*35-40% completion, 1:3 TD:INT ratio

If you thought accuracy wasn't all that important, I wish you had said something BEFORE I cut him.

Game 1
Andrew Reece 17/38 - 235 - 1 - 1 62.94

Not bad for not knowing the playbooks.

The question is __how__ important. In 0.4.2 and earlier, Accuracy was the God skill for QBs since QBs only read one WR at a time.

I think he's going to seesaw wildly until he gets adequate play knowledge. The real test will be next season.

And I think it is because of the 85+ Pass Blocking/ 85+ Run Blocking Offensive Line I built over time

Game 3: Andrew Reece 17/32 - 270 - 4 - 1 108.07

He's completing just 51% in three games, but that isn't completely awful given all of the nerfs in 0.4.3. I'm not sure how he'd do with the beta passing changes that are being tested since it rewrites a lot of the ball placement algorithms, but I still don't think he'd do badly.

Of course, I almost swapped him for Robert Burns .
