We have 2 players chasing records this season so I'll use this space to track their progress.
In 1996, New Jersey QB Don Ferguson set the league record with 64 TD passes in a single season. This season, San Jose QB Myron Dustin is on pace to tie the record currently after an off week 8 where he only threw 1 scoring pass in an upset loss to Philadelphia.
Record Pace (4 per game): 32 through 8 games
Myron Dustin: 32 TD passes through 8 games _____________________________________________________________________
In our inaugural season of 1974, Chicago RB Bruce Fine led the league with 2056 rushing yards, which is 128.5 yards per game. In fact 5 of the top 6 rushing seasons happened in 1974 and 1975. Since 1975, our best rushing season was Scott Randall (Shreveport), who ran for 1774 yards in 2001.
Rushing TD record was similar, with Bruce Fine and John Murray (Pittsburgh) each scoring 15 rushing TDs in 1974. That record stood until 2007 when Pittsburgh's Felix Vaughn scored 17 rushing TDs. Vaughn held the record 1 season as his teammate Kenneth Allen scored 18 rushing TDs in 2008 to establish our current, for now rushing record.
George Hoffman of 8-0 Memphis is crushing the record pace so far with 1202 yards and 14 TDs.
Good luck chasing history Smirt and Private Snowflake. I won't be upset if/when Dustin breaks the TD pass record. It's nice having it be one of my players but I'm surprised it's stood up this long with Smirt in the league. Myron Dustin set the passing yards record last season (8465 yards) with 61 TDs so it's not at all surprising he's making another run at Ferguson's TD record.
As far as the rushing record goes, it's time. The record has stood since 1974 so it feels like the time is right to rewrite the record books.
No TD passes for Dustin in Week 9 but we all know more monster games are coming. _________________________________________________________________________
Rushing yards record pace: 1156.5 yards
George Hoffman: 1271
Record rushing TD pace: 10.125
George Hoffman: 14
In week 9 Hoffman ran for 69 scoreless yards against a tough San Antonio defense. Better days are ahead and Hoffman remains ahead of the record pace.

I checked the passing yards for Myron Dustin to see if he's on pace to break his own passing yards record from last season. He is currently 400 yards below record pace.
I owe Smirt an apology as it seems I jinxed Myron Dustin. After throwing for 4 TDs a game the first half of the season, I had to bring up the fact he was on a record tying pace. Since then Dustin has 1 TD pass in 2 games and now needs 31 TD passes in 6 games to tie Don Ferguson's record.
Now it's possible Dustin can throw 31 in 6 games in that offense but Smirt's SaberCats are more focused on wins at this point, given how tight the playoff race is.
Smirt, I'm sorry I jinxed your QB. I guess payback is coming Week 16.

Not for nothing but John Adams (HOU) leads the league in TD passes (36).
I don't expect to finish in 1st place by the end of the season since I run a balanced offense and have the leagues 2nd leading rushing plus I play in the best **** division in the USFL!!

If he gets closer to record pace we can track him too.

While I'm on pace for 58 TD passes compared to Dustin's pace of 53...I already can guarantee I won't get near 64 TD passes since my last 5 games are a gauntlet of 4 division games plus New Orleans.
In fact, I doubt I break 50 but 55 in my francise record which would be nice!!! Adams also has a Longshot at breaking my francise record of 5,827 yards passing as he is on pace for 5,704 yards but once again the schedule is daunting.

Well I already jinxed Dustin by mentioning him and the record, I can jinx Adams too if you want.
