No 2 way players Offensive players play offense, defensive players play defense
RB must be played by actual RBs I know most leagues don't use this rule for 4.6 but I want to keep it in play for us. The weight restriction is gone but they must still be assigned to be a RB or FB if they carry the ball (except for QB scrambles of course). *TE can play FB, therefore can carry the ball
Must have 1 real K and P Have to have at least 1 of each on the roster during game/midweek spins.
No Tanking Teams must not openly tank in an effort to secure a top draft pick. _______________________________________________________________________________
Old Rules No Longer Enforced Due to 4.6
McKeon Rule This rule was essentially replaced by this rule...
DL 265 lb Minimum All defensive lineman must weigh 265 lbs
Punt Block Exploit No DB, WR, or RB on the front 4 of the ST rushers
OL Minimum Weight Centers must weigh at least 250 lbs, Guards/Tackles 275
LB Minimum Weight Linebackers must weight 237 lbs
RB must weigh at least 200 lbs No more WR carrying the ball, period.
Just because I don't have *MUST have a real placekicker* listed in the rules doesn't mean it's OK to use a WR as your kicker. It should go without saying but...
I would say at this point, with the preseason starting tomorrow night, we should just stick with letting RB/FB carry the ball for this season. Someone may have already drafted a TE and converted them, so I really don't want to change now.
We can discuss as a league, maybe do a poll which would take effect in 1999.
Reason: I'm not working with a lot on offense and he has lower ball carry. Main use = blocker/TE position usage but I see the work around: FB - I can over-ride him for both purposes.
