Yes, I recall going up against that player. I can't remember the league, either.

I believe sometimes it halts on the way down to somewhere between WR and RB weight. Also, it'll take awhile to get there.....down to RB, for instance. I've never tried to reduce a 6'4" or 6'3" d-lineman down to CB figuring the body frame element would impede it or make the CB ineffective due to over-size height. Flip side, I know JDB and the Gang got mad and made it so that DBs *** rushing the show at DE got mashed and crushed so I try to be careful with testing limits. Your 6'3-4" 270# DE will likely end up in the 220 range, which is fine for a DB as long as he has good acceleration. When looking at players over RB weight (217#) or WLB weight (237#), the separating factor is AC. AC is largely negligible for light weight players because they get their body weight moving pretty quickly (which is why a 60 SP, AC, 100 B&R, 100 Courage WR will still tear up the Hitch route), but it's extremely important for players over that weight to get moving. It's why your 80 SP, 10 AC TE gets outperformed by someone's 50 SP, 80 AC TE or <whatever scenario involving players >240# here>. |

****, that's quite intriguing information/food for thought. Related to but not exactly what you were discussing with acceleration I know that my approach on it is if you have short burst post routes you want the acceleration as maxed out as possible vs. a fly pattern you can accept a high end speed/reduced acceleration. However, the weight vs. the need for acceleration that truly adds another layer of consideration. The MLB with sparkling 82 speed but 35 acceleration you may want to pass on for the steady 70+/70+ guy.

Don't underestimate the value of a WR with 95 speed and AC on a fly route regardless of talent, especially since poor catch ability actually decreases the chance of a drop.
