No time for a blog post today, so I will jot down a few observations from Week 3:

* The Hawaiians are back. They were 13-3 last season BUT started off 0-2 this season, BUT knocked off the Houston Gamblers, 19-12. Grizzled veteran William Trombly didn't fare as well for the Gamblers this time (QBR 52.32, 2 interceptions). Honolulu MLB Douglas Oneal, SS John Beasley, and FS John Basel combined for 30 tackles.

* The San Jose SaberCats and Florida Blazers are a combined 6-0. They were a combined 5-27 last season. Blazers WR Arthur Strickland had 135 yards rushing and 186 receiving during a 30-10 win over the Boston Breakers.

* Look who's leading the league in scoring ... the Charlotte Hornets (113 points, 37.7 per game) after a 50-30 defeat of the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Hornets also lead the league in points allowed (116). Stanley Snyder threw for 569 yards and five TDs vs. Pittsburgh.

* San Antonio QB Tony Smith threw his ninth interception of the season (vs. two TDs) with less than 2 minutes to play, preserving the Michigan Panthers' 20-19 win over the Gunslingers.

* Welcome to the league, bedgerly! The new Oakland coach, in his first day on the job, led the Invaders to a 9-6 victory over the Portland Storm.

* The Detroit Wheels took a year off from being the league's chief bully last season, finishing 8-8 ... the first non-winning season in franchise history. The Wheels are rolling again, whipping the Tampa Bay Bandits, 35-7, to move to 3-0.

* SaberCats (3-0) at Hawaiians (1-2) looks like the game of the week.

GG Duval. Third consecutive loss & counting.......I think it is the curse of finishing 1st in the Division......

GG eyeballl. You know I just came here after reading the kind words about our game in NCAA...only to find you pick me off twice in the last two minutes to snuff out any hopes we had in making a comeback here. Not cool!

We needed that one to keep up in the conference race. Going to be tough to keep pace with the Wheels now.

Trouble in Pittsburgh.....

Not sure what is happening with this squad.

Bad decisions by the General Manager.
