I'm not interesting in the why things work or dont....I'm only interested in the results.
I've creator 2 leagues in there 20th season and have created a sense of history in those leagues via Alltime Stats threads, MVP and ALLPRO selections every season plus a Hall of Fame for retired players that produced exceptional stats throughout there career.
I've tried to bring my leagues to life and it's helped retain owners. In my XFL League which is entering season 20...I have 16 owners playing in season 10 or more including 4 original owners.
I make my leagues fun because I try to make the dots come alive and names matter. Everyone who has spend at least 4 seasons in the XFL (25 owners) knows Randal Cunningham is the greatest QB in XFL history.
My point is this....I don't know code or why things work or dont....I don't know the math or logic being used to code the game and what that does to change how the sim gets results.
Honestly, I don't care because I'm and end-user who is playing a game because it's fun!
I've spent hundreds if not thousands of hours in not only creating leagues with an added layer of fantasy life through added content in the threads but enforcing when someone has a record day or reaching a milestone. My Hall of Fame is the penultimate thread for players from teams that did it the best. Owners are proud of a player they drafted, who played 10+ years who gets elected in the Hall of Fame.
Why does any of this matter???
20 years of history and how am I suppose to logically explain why a 8 year QB who has averaged 4,000 yards passing a season and 38 TD passes who is on a fast track to the Hall of Fame suddenly can't throw for 3,000 yards and has 20 TDs.....sure one player can be explained away but the entire league is about to produce extremely different results.
It's just insane how we switch from one version to another and there is no continuity or consistency....New versions should be released every 3 months with gradual, consistent changes.
Now it's here's a new version and everything is different, results are different, the roster you built with custom weights now sucks because this new version needs new custom weights! Running offense has doubled on average while passing offense has been cut in half....oh and by the way....sacks have more then doubled!!!
I feel like everything I've created, all the money I've spent and all the hours I've invested are being thrown out the window!
JDB, I love this game and all the effort you have put into it. I've shown my appreciation by promoting this game while spending hundreds of dollars to buy credits over the years. All I'm saying is each new version is too drastically different from the last and there is no consistency.
Version 4.5 to version 4.6 implies small changes to the code to fix bugs and issues which led to exploits. This definately feels like a switch from 4.5 to Version 5.0.....at least that's been my experience in 40+ years of PC gaming.
I'm not someone who can tell you what to do or how to fix it...I'm a simple person who spends his money for a product I enjoy and that's how I feel!

I'm retreating to my 2 leagues and plan on stopping my posts anywhere but in those leagues. I will concentrate on trying to keep my leagues alive through this transition and I honestly hope I can successfully do that!
