I got bored of tecmo and how exploitable it was. Even Madden and Madden 88' or 89' was the same i would spin my way down the field. Or was that Sports talk football with Joe Montana. Any ways i would glitch them all...not on purpose. I was 9.
By 12 i was so bored with the lack of football being played in video games... Not even knowing that i was gaming every game....i just knew the fun was gone.
What made it fun for me was not winning it was playing a life like game. Knowing that and not knowing anything about code or how to complain to EA i did just what you said.
(My big problem was convincing my mom to let me play games. She would constantly say ther was no money in video games. Boy was she wrong!)
At twelve i made my own football board game. It was complete. Gridded out just like a field and i used physics and probabilty to dictate outcomes.
It had varying types of players with different skills and sizes that had an effect also. The players were hand constructed out of clay, and for fumbles part of the probabilty of a jarring hit to cause a fumble was to throw your defensive clay figure at the ball carrier, when in range of course, to knock the clay ball out of his clay grip. (That being the only part my freind really enjoyed)
It was complex to say the least as the game was played in realtime and would take a few hours to play one game. Something that never came to because my friend got bored late in the third quarter and quit after i was winning 13-6 and he missed his two point conversion.
I gave up on that endevor and played franchise modes in every game ever since. Simulating alot of the games if not 95 percent of them maybe playing the big games to ensure a victory.
Then online gaming came and it was all one big glitch as top gamers faced each other. We are experiencing the same things in a simulation with user interaction.
I want the user to user interactions to be as lifelike as possible.
I do think i have a better chance at learning how to write code rather than convince JDB to send his game in a particular direction. Even though i feel that is all i have to offer.
That is why i say it. Only to put it out there. JDB does what he wants and is confident in his decisions. Thats crucial to developing anything great. Were all good, and the games in great shape.
This game has such promise still on the horizon.
Like my mom said which i will disagree till the end of times. There is money in these video games, and because of that there will be competion for it. If you do not change with the times someone else will.
Being comfortable at the top is not a good thing. Somebodys gonna to take you place if you do not change.
I want my hobbies to make me my majority of my cash one day.
As Kevin says on shark tank " a hobbie is not a business. If you wan to make money take it out the pasture an shoot it"
I should shoot some of mine and focus on the ones that work. Creating my own game is one of mine that should be shot.
Still, my ideas could be someone else gold mine. Some one with the right skills. Right now my vote is with JDB. I have complete faith.
