OP: What do I think?

I think you look for things to complain about and then give long winded diatribe to bore us all. Play the game Grandad and quit making accusations and other gibberish. You pretty much are a chronic complainer, enough already!

OK, so, why the 32 teams like the NFL? Why the NFL cities & team colors in MFN league the same as NFL? Canadian pro football has different field and rules, this game uses the same as? oh yeah, the NFL. The draft, the salary cap structure, the game schedule is mirrored after?...... you guessed it! the NFL.

Look, this thread is not about the game being an accurate, dead on simulation of how the NFL drafts and signs and manages its players. Its about being a good simulation, which is what this game is, a simulation that is attempting to improve, which is what it should always continue to do, and thank you JDB for this game and doing so, like the new version that is out.

Whether a trade is considered good or bad being in the "eyes of the owners" is part of the trading process, as War Eagle stated very well. The current problem is that "Super Teams" consisting of double and three times the amount of players that would be considered first round picks are being accumulated by taking advantage of the current trade conditions. The trade meter, however restrictive you want to say it is, is not preventing "Super Teams" being created, by the very few who know how to do it and spend a lot of time and effort to do so.

As stated before, if you like either creating or owning a "Super Team" or applauding for the "Super Team" and owner that is dominating your league every season, then you want the trade process and salary cap/contract renegotion to stay the way it is. If you are like I am, and would like the game to be a better simulation of the NFL that it is based on, dont like seeing an upcoming draft where the existing "Super Team" has 2 or 3 mid to high picks in the first round making that "Super Team" become even more "Super" than they already are, then you would like to see trading brought back into balance with the other important aspects of this game. The only way I can see that being done is through stronger salary cap standards, make a valuable "All Pro" type player reflect that in salary & contract renegotiations instead of being paid the same as a low level back-up, and improve the trade meter so that it accounts for the differences and strengths by position, player age, and key attributes. Having to do that would make the game more strategic, as opposed to using the flaws in the current trading system to gain an unrealistic advantage that is less of a simulation of what this game is trying to emulate.

Wow, do you ever stop? You have complained more in your short time here than the rest of the participants in the history of this game!

Maybe you should go away or get better.

If you stay, I suggest you quit your incessant ranting and spend your time building your teams.

The point is the same owners are doing the same trades in a bunch of leagues and they get called out and don't care. You gotta have thick skin. I don't care if I get hated for voicing my opinion but I don't want be known as trading a 1 , 2 , ,5, ,6 for a 2-5 record teams 1, 2.. That's silly. For owners to even argue with this thread a little is also.... Why wouldent you compare these trades and and how difficult it really is to get first rounders in the NFL. Redskins gave up three 1srs,and two 2nds to get the # 2 pick . A few years back. Everything else on the game is supposed to resemble the NFL so why not this? If we played 13 starters what would the threads look like? How many people would complain that's not real and compare it to the NFL to make there case?

I think all points on this topic have been made, it is starting to slide into personal attacks which we need to keep off this board. I agree with Grandad and am mulling lots of ideas about making it harder to build a super team, because I agree that it makes it tough to feel competitive at times when you have those super teams in the league. Some of this is the nature of the fact that, well, we aren't all getting paid to manage these teams and are not at risk of losing our jobs if we don't perform, and some owners don't spend a lot of time and many even take a team and disappear fairly quickly - all because this is a game you can play for free. We will never have the kind of parity there is in the NFL for that reason alone.
