It's not even about saving Inexperienced Owners from themselves...
sometimes you just can't craft a Trade that makes sense.
It's like it doesn't take Potential or Age into consideration at all, a 22 Year Old and a 32 Year Old at WR both rated 91 are considered the same by the Trade Meter... but what we'd each give for a 32 Year Old WR Rated 91 (probably still give something decent, he's going to be a great 1 Year Rental) versus a 22 Year Old WR Rated 91 (probably going to be a lot, since we are going to lock him down and be set at WR for the next 5-10 Years) is far from the same.
I'm also not sure how it Values those 1st Round Picks... especially BEFORE they are slotted. Because a 1-1 is way more valuable than a 1-32... after about 8-10 Picks in MOST Drafts the Value of a 1st diminishes greatly.
Also, it doesn't allow for certain aspects... like Desire. Look at how much was given for RGIII, the #2 Overall in his Draft. Not because they wanted the 1-2 Pick, but because they wanted Robert Griffin. In other words, not every 1-2 Pick is 'equal'.
Also, you can only Offer 4 'Items', and you can only bet +/- 2 Picks. So I can't offer a Super Star and get 4 Picks... I have to offer a Super Star and 2 Picks to get 4 Picks.
Nor can I Trade Out of the 1-1 for an 'entire Draft' ala the Saints/Dolphins Ricky Williams Trade.
Trading seems to be a bit restrictive, and confounded more by the Meter not always making sense.
Now, as to how to fix it... that's a tough question, especially as Coding is involved.
