Trade balance updates

This weekend I blew up the trade balance meter on the preview site - the algorithm was rewritten completely from scratch. I would love to hear any feedback - better? Worse? The old algorithm is still active in the non-preview version.

What are some of the changes?Since we are past the trade deadline in some leagues.

The change is basically how it calculates the balance - it scores each side, but previously it used a static amount to consider it unbalanced, the new way uses a ratio instead (so you can't trade a 7th rounder for a 4rd rounder, which you could have previously)

Not sure how much this improves things. Here's an example.

I have this player on my team that has gotten lost on my roster, but he can play a number of spots: http://mfn19.preview.myfootballnow.com/player/158

(Fair warning: I have an interesting weighting system that often deviates widely from the default.)

I think he's at best worth a fourth round pick, but I would take a fifth for him. I put him up for trade. He pushes the bar all the way to the right for my trading partner.

I select a fifth round pick and the trade balancer doesn't move.

I select a fourth round pick and the trade balancer doesn't move.

I select a third round pick and the trade balancer barely nudges in my direction.

I select a second round pick and the trade balancer goes all the way to the left favoring me completely.

I do a lot of trading of players I feel are cut candidates or valuable but lost on my team for late round picks. If the trade balancer is going to do this for every trade, then I don't see the value in it.

What do you show this player's rating to be?

Curious to see what this new algorithm thinks is too good to even allow you to offer him for a 4th round pick.

I have him listed at 69/70. The default rating I think is 65/66. So it's not too far off in this case.

The shocker was that the balancer thought he was barely worth a 3rd round pick.

With what I've been seeing available in the drafts lately I would think a default 65/66 should be barely worth a 3rd.

Sorry, my grammar got mangled in that sentence. The logic should have been the other way around. That a 3rd round pick barely move balance toward fair. It was still heavily weighted to my trading partner as in he was getting a much better deal.
