ORLANDO — The Orlando Renegades secured their seventh consecutive victory with a commanding 29-8 home win against the Outlaws in Week 7 of the 2022 regular season. Under Head Coach Rueben Mahaffey, the Renegades improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in division play, maintaining their first-place position in the division.

Quarterback John Rice completed 20 of 28 passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing one interception. The Renegades displayed a balanced offensive effort, combining an effective passing game with a strong rushing attack. Running back Bill Minks led Orlando’s ground game with 107 yards rushing and added 14 receiving yards.

The Renegades opened the scoring in the first quarter when Rice connected on a 26-yard touchdown pass to tight end Joshua Towe, who finished with 62 receiving yards and a rushing touchdown. Tyler Bell was briefly injured on a fumble recovery play early in the game but returned to action. Orlando's special teams contributed well with three successful field goals by kicker Gregg Zavala, including a 36-yard and 48-yard kick in the second quarter.

Defensively, the Renegades forced multiple turnovers, recovering three fumbles and intercepting one pass. William Robinson forced a fumble during the game, complementing the defensive unit's performance which included two sacks. The defense held the Outlaws to just one touchdown and limited their rushing attack to 37 yards on 22 carries.

The Outlaws, coached by Gregory Snyder, struggled to move the ball consistently. Quarterback Anthony Fisher completed 13 of 24 passes for 126 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Their lone touchdown came on a rushing play by running back Jack Napier, who also contributed 54 receiving yards and 22 rushing yards.

Field position played a role throughout the contest, with both teams utilizing punts strategically in the first half. Orlando’s Jerome Ramirez punted effectively, helping maintain control and field position.

The Renegades maintained dominance throughout, never trailing and controlling the tempo with a steady run game and opportunistic defense. They converted all three of their field goal attempts and did not allow any scoring in the red zone, as both teams had zero red zone touchdowns.

With this win, the Renegades continue to demonstrate their superiority, outscoring opponents 261-59 so far this season. The Outlaws fall to 2-5 on the year and are now on a five-game losing streak. Orlando will look to build on this momentum in upcoming weeks as they pursue a playoff berth.
