QB question

So what's the deal with my QB throwing 4-6 interceptions a game? He is arguably one of the best in the game and I just can't figure it out. Is it the receiving core? Can a rule be written to shut down the passing game causing all of the interceptions? I don't think it can be play overuse because I have
30 out of 40 plays selected and they vary. I have tried removing certain pass types from game planning to see if that would help. I'm at a lose.

Quality of receivers, pass protection, and types of plays

Your WR are generally slow so that doesn't help. Do you throw a lot of long passes? The current game version doesn't give much success on long passes.

Some QBs just tend to throw INTs, I've had a few like that across my leagues.

There are also certain defensive plays that increase the likelihood of INT. setherick talks about the "positioning" of players in certain sets. They clog up passing lanes. Just like real football. Unfortunately, they are not all zone plays.

No I don't throw long passes, generally short to medium. Thanks for the replies guys just trying to figure this QB out. This is the only league that I have a QB throwing this many Interceptions.

I noticed Allison's pass accuracy rating is only 77, which is not all that good. His intelligence is 77, which is also just okay. Overall, my weights have him at 80, which is just okay.

Now, his potential numbers are really good—100 accuracy and 92 overall (my weights).

So, I think he will be pretty good. It's only his third season and he's just not there yet.

Your QB hasn't fully developed his accuracy yet (77/100), so once that hits all red, the INT might decrease some, but if I were you, I'd look to improve the skill guys around Allison. Everybody uses speed on defense, and your slow WR probably struggle to get open.

Your lack of running game doesn't help either. You run the ball less than anyone, so defenses are likely ignoring the run, selling out to stop the pass.

I would suggest you look to add speed at RB/WR, even if the other skills are lacking. https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/player/7283 That's my RB3 Greg Ayala, an example of a cheap guy who would help your offense even though a lot of his player card is empty.

I sorted free agent RB and WR by speed and there are several available that aren't aging vets.

Thank you all for your input. You have shed light on areas I haven't even thought about. I'm looking forward to the offseason and draft to hopefully fill the gaps and get this team back on track.

Whoa, I looked at his player card with the interceptions.

Truth is, he'll dominate unless JDB has something written into the code that if a QB goes down the wrong path racking up INTs you can't reverse it. Unsure.

But he's 94 rated with speed and a 78 vol. meaning he exploded into it. The sucky QBs are the ones rated 90+ out of the game, low vol with low speed, scramble and avoid fumble combinations.

Ratings wise, if you had the talent base and were/are pounding the right plays his 77 accuracy would be fine....he'd play above the 77 if you're clicking in and ratings wise the QB should dominate with play makers that can burst/cause damage.
