Personally, I'd say that this trade could be debatable whether it's completely fair or not.
It definitely is lopsided but I wouldn't really say it's enough to completely veto it.

I will begin with the obligatory " I'm new to MFN so, (insert explanatory intro here)".

With that in mind, I too, am of the opinion that this transaction was less than "balanced".
(Full Disclosure: I had knowledge of a similar proposal that was rejected)
Trade offers are a valid and common strategy...they're just part of the game.

However, we (the league) have establish a Trade Committee to oversee what was seen as a flaw among "regular/normal/those other" leagues. It is my understanding that the chosen committee members are the most learned peers among the 32 league owners. Being our inaugural season, I am committed to trust their judgement even if I disagree with it (as hard as that will be!)

With that being said, as long as the committee follows procedure and due process, I will support the present and future trade outcomes.

Both owners ran this trade through without the approval of the trade committee. I will PM the members of the committee tonight and ask that they review this. If it is not approved, I will ask both owners to reverse this trade.

Interesting to see where this goes. I have seen trades in established leagues of a similar nature but that is to fill the last area of need. Given that we are all start ups we have holes all over the rosters and I would have thought the draft is the only route to plug these holes over the next couple of seasons...........

Im the one who started this conflict. Ill reverse the trade later today. I just want the committee and everybody to understand the move. Sure im new to mfn. And i have tried about idk 12 or so different leagues. But im for sure not new to football or new to sim. I have been doing sim madden leagues for years.

My only issue with rejecting this trade is what makes it unbalanced if i am the person who put it down. Sure im new, i understand the cap goes up later on to sign elite prospects. But why does 80% of the people believe you have to build thru the draft? No i really dont want to draft a guy thats 33/99 and build him up. Thats not my style it never had been. I would prefer him to be 91/91 on a 3 or 4 year deal. About 28 to 29 years old. Give me his best years and then ill move on to the next guy.

Its just a different strategy. I keep getting told dude later on you might want that big time WR to help you win a championship. If i need a big time WR to win then im failing because my playbook and my game planning doesnt reflect over having that. I know im giving away all my secrets but hot mama im just kind of put on edge here. If you wanted everything to be the same and just take that chance on luck then why not play poker.

This is football. Risk/reward. Strategy. Are some mad they werent offered my draft picks? I aopologize. I looked thru everybody. I didnt discriminate. I even offered a guy a trade in my own division. I looked and seen what you might do and might not do. Again though ill make the trade back. I no longer have a developmental head coach which is fine and losing a FS kicks my ****.

Mind you i won y preaseason game. I just want to make sure you guys know that your killing the fun of football risk and payoffs

Campton, the problem is that in this situation you're actually giving up way more than you're gaining cause rookies don't actually need to be "developed" to out perform the 8-9 year vets. I understand that it shouldn't be that way but that is the way this sim works unfortunately.

We put the trade committee in place to protect new owners from not receiving fair value in trades. I know a 68 overall DB would not even start for many of my teams.

But I am not as inflexible as you might think. Campton has stated his case. We can have a dialogue about this. Should we allow an imbalanced trade if the owner being wronged insists on it?

You got to draft your team the way you want. Its fresh and new. Have faith in the process.

Ironic, wouldn't one say

If he stays around to see the future of his bad deal, then yes. If he bolts before, then NO and sets the precedent for the rest of the league
