Well both games were competitive, though I hope you like defense. I haven't dug too deep yet but it looks at first glance like New York should have been more aggressive around the goal line. Not saying it would have flipped the script but if there were talk radio, the fans would be up in arms about the short field goals. Regardless, it was a great season for the New York Stars and they played their best football in January.
San Antonio had their 5th consecutive double digit win season, not easy to do with the quality of the teams in the Southwest division. Brxnivy's Gunslingers have established themselves as part of the cream of the crop in the USFL, but in a crowded American Conference, they have yet to achieve the ultimate playoff success. There is no shame in losing to the defending champions and I expect San Antonio to keep pounding on the World Bowl door next season.
Speaking of defending champs, World Bowl XXXVIII will be played between our defending champion San Jose SaberCats and the New Orleans VooDoo, who won the two previous championships. They took different paths to get here as San Jose has been in playoff mode since early in the season when they started 0-4. That seems so long ago now, but at the time it seemed the SaberCats might not even make the playoffs. They responded like the champs they are though, turning their season around and now here they are, in World Bowl XXXVIII to defend their title. New Orleans cruised through the regular season 15-1, but that 1 loss was in Week 15 to San Jose. The VooDoo have a 3 game World Bowl winning streak while San Jose is 2-0 in the World Bowl.
Should be a good game, good luck to Smirt and Legend and congrats on a great season brxnivy and Beercloud.
