Two divisions have been clinched already, as have 6 total playoff spots. The New Orleans VooDoo (10-2) have clinched the South while the Orlando Renegades (10-2) have clinched the Southeast. Joining them in the playoffs, according to MFN are the Pittsburgh Maulers (12-0), Baltimore Stars (10-2), Philadelphia Bell (10-2), and the Houston Gamblers (10-2).

Joining that group soon should be the Portland Storm (10-2) and Oklahoma Outlaws (10-2).

In the American Conference, it's a tight wildcard race with 3 teams at 7-5 fighting for 2 spots. One of San Jose, Memphis, or Michigan will miss the playoffs unless Oklahoma or Houston totally collapse down the stretch. As of today, MFN lists Memphis as the odd team out.

American Conference

Pacific

Honolulu 9-3
San Jose 7-5
Los Angeles 4-8
Southern California 1-11

Honolulu got off to a 6-0 start, then cooled off a bit as their schedule stiffened. Their remaining opponents are a combined 30-18 as they finish with San Jose, New Jersey, Houston and LA. San Jose is hanging around in the wildcard chase and they still can win the division, especially if they beat Honolulu tomorrow night. Following that showdown, the SaberCats finish with Southern California, Boston, and Memphis, which could be a de facto playoff game.

Los Angeles isn't officially eliminated yet, but they are 3 games out of the 7th seed with 4 to play. Southern California has been eliminated.

West

Portland 10-2
Oakland 6-6
Arizona 2-10
Denver 1-11

Portland is on the verge of winning the West as all they need is 1 more win or 1 more Oakland loss. The Storm's next game is against Arizona and if they take care of business, they'll win the division again. Oakland is 1 game out of the 7th seed but 3 of their last 4 games are against teams in the playoff chase: Memphis, Chicago, and Portland.

Arizona and Denver have been eliminated.

Southwest

Houston 10-2
Oklahoma 10-2
Memphis 7-5
San Antonio 4-8

MFN gives Houston the current tiebreaker, likely due to a 4-1 division record as the Gamblers and Outlaws split. Houston has also clinched a playoff spot while Oklahoma has not. Both teams only face 1 team with a winning record down the stretch so it's probably safe to assume Oklahoma will punch their ticket soon and the division winner will be selected by a tiebreaker.

Memphis is still technically alive for the division but most likely they need to focus on staying a wildcard. It won't be easy as their last 4 games are against Oakland (6-6), New Orleans (10-2), Oklahoma (10-2), and San Jose (7-5).

San Antonio is still alive but they need to run the table and get lots of help.

Midwest

Chicago 9-3
Michigan 7-5
Detroit 3-9
Cleveland 3-9

Chicago has a 2 game lead with 4 to play, including a Week 16 game at Michigan. Speaking of Michigan, they are the current 6th seed. Chicago's remaining opponents have a combined 24-24 record, Michigan's 23-25.

Detroit and Cleveland have been eliminated.

Things are different in the National Conference, as most likely there is just 1 spot up for grabs. At most there are 2, as Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Orlando, and Baltimore have already clinched spots. New Jersey is 9-3 with a 3 game lead on the #7 seed and should clinch with 1 more win or 1 more Georgia loss.

Georgia (6-6) are all by themselves in the #7 spot with several teams nipping at their heels.

Southeast

Orlando 10-2
Jacksonville 4-8
Florida 2-10
Tampa Bay 1-11

Orlando has clinched the division and they're 2 games behind Pittsburgh for the BYE. Jacksonville has 3 winnable games after they play Orlando tomorrow. An upset would give them a boost and keep them alive to finish .500 but 7-9 could qualify as the #7 seed.

Florida and Tampa Bay have been eliminated.

South

New Orleans 10-2
Georgia 6-6
Birmingham 5-7
Shreveport 1-11

New Orleans has clinched the division while Georgia is the current #7 seed. The Force play Birmingham tomorrow night and a Georgia win would virtually eliminate the Stallions. They'll need to win as they get a pair of 10-2 teams (NO/PHI) before finishing with Shreveport.

Birmingham faces Houston after Georgia before wrapping up against a pair of 5-7 teams (NY/WASH). Shreveport has been eliminated.

Atlantic

Pittsburgh 12-0
Baltimore 10-2
Washington 5-7
Charlotte 4-8

Pittsburgh is 12-0 with a 2 game lead on Baltimore, but they have yet to play this season, so 2 of their remaining 4 games are against each other. Pittsburgh's other 2 games are against Orlando (10-2) and New York (5-7). Baltimore's other 2 games are against Michigan (7-5) and Charlotte (4-8).

Washington and Charlotte play each other this week, and if Washington wins, they'll put some pressure on Georgia. Charlotte will likely be eliminated with a loss, but if the Hornets win they'll still be alive, and at least hurt the chances of their division rival in the process.

East

Philadelphia 10-2
New Jersey 9-3
New York (NY) Stars 5-7
Boston Breakers 5-7

Philadelphia swept New Jersey so they win the tiebreaker, but their remaining opponents have a combined 31-17 record. The Bell should be playoff tested when they actually start as their last 2 games are against playoff teams New Orleans and Orlando. New Jersey also faces 2 playoff teams down the stretch before finishing with Washington and Boston. The Generals are 1 win or 1 Georgia loss from clinching a spot.

New York and Boston are both 1 game behind Georgia for the 7th spot, with the NY Stars having an easier remaining schedule than Boston.

Good luck to those chasing playoff spots and/or division titles.

Week 13 is in the books so how did the results affect the playoff races?

American Conference

Clinched Division: Portland

Clinched Playoff Spot: Houston, Oklahoma

In the Hunt: Honolulu, San Jose, Oakland, Memphis, Chicago, Michigan

Portland beat Arizona to clinch the West and they'll be fighting with the winner of the Southwest for HFA and the BYE.

San Jose beat Honolulu to tighten the gap in the Pacific.

Memphis beat Oakland, leaving the Invaders on the brink of elimination. If the season ended now, the wildcards would be Oklahoma, San Jose and Memphis.

Houston and Oklahoma both won and the Outlaws join the Gamblers and Storm in the playoffs. One wins the division and the other will be the top wildcard.

Chicago lost to Southern California but Michigan could not take advantage, losing to Denver. Chicago maintains their 2 game lead while Michigan slips to the 8th seed.

National Conference

Clinched Division: Orlando, New Orleans

Clinched Playoff Spot: Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Philadelphia

In the Hunt: New Jersey, Georgia, Washington, New York, Birmingham, Boston

Baltimore beat Pittsburgh, for the Maulers first loss of the season. Pittsburgh still leads the division and the race for the #1 seed, but this loss opens the door for the Stars to steal the division if they can complete the sweep.

New Orleans handled New Jersey, preventing the Generals from clinching a wildcard spot. The Generals still need 1 more win or some losses by the 6-7 teams to get in.

There are just 2 spots up for grabs with 6 teams still fighting for those. New Jersey has the easiest path, sitting 9-4, 2 games clear of Georgia (7-6). If the season ended now, they would round out the field, but it doesn't, so 4 other teams could still sneak in.

Washington and New York are both 6-7, hoping to catch Georgia while Birmingham and Boston are still alive, needing wins and help.

Week 14 is finished and we have 12 of 14 playoff spots spoken for, although 3 divisions are still undecided.

American Conference

Clinched Division: Portland, Chicago

Clinched Playoff Spot: San Jose, Honolulu, Houston, Oklahoma

In the Hunt: Memphis, Oakland, Michigan

Chicago beat Portland 24-20 and the Blitz clinched the Midwest when Michigan lost to Baltimore. The Panthers are still alive but they are 1 game behind Memphis for the #7 seed.

San Jose beat Southern California for their 4th win in a row and they gained a share of first place when Honolulu lost to New Jersey. The SaberCats and Hawaiians split their season series but San Jose wins the tiebreaker based on better division record. However the Pacific shakes out, both teams will play in January.

The beat rolls on for both Houston and Oklahoma, as they improve to 12-2. The division winner would currently be the #1 seed while 2nd place will be the top wildcard. It's going to be a deep tiebreaker if they both finish 14-2 as they'll have the same division and conference records.

Memphis lost to New Orleans, dropping them to 8-6, but the Showboats are still currently the #7 seed. They have a 1 game lead on Michigan and Oakland, who beat Denver this week to improve to 7-7.

Remaining Schedules

San Jose: @ BOS (6-8), vs MEM (8-6)
Honolulu: @ HOU (12-2), @ LA (5-9)
Portland: vs CLE (5-9), @ OAK (7-7)
Oakland: @ CHI (10-4), vs PORT (11-3)
Houston: vs HON (9-5), @ So. Cal (2-12)
Oklahoma: vs MEM (8-6), @ SA (4-10)
Memphis: @ OKL (12-2), @ SJ (9-5)
Chicago: vs OAK (7-7), @ MICH (7-7)
Michigan: @ DET (4-10), vs CHI (10-4)

Pittsburgh and Baltimore both won, setting up a possible Atlantic Division Championship Game in Week 15. They still have to play Week 16 but the winner of this upcoming game will control their own destiny, however both teams will be in the post season.

Pittsburgh beat Southeast Champs Orlando 28-0, improving to 13-1 and leading the way for the #1 seed. Baltimore beat Michigan 19-3, hurting the Panthers' playoff hopes.

New Orleans handled Memphis 33-6 while Philadelphia beat the Force 33-7 as they both improve to 12-2, hoping the Maulers lose another game so maybe they can get the BYE. With 4 teams currently in position for the #1 seed, I'm not going to attempt to decipher scenarios for each. Orlando could possibly be in the mix for the #1 seed as well if results fall right so make that 5 possible #1 seeds.

New Jersey won a hard fought game with Honolulu to finally punch their playoff ticket, leaving just 1 wildcard spot available. Georgia (7-7) leads the way but 1 game behind the Force are Washington, New York and Boston.

National Conference

Clinched Division: Orlando, New Orleans, Philadelphia

Clinched Playoff Spot: Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New Jersey

In the Hunt: Georgia, Washington, New York (NY) Stars, Boston

Remaining Schedules

Orlando: @ PHI (12-2), vs FLA (2-12)
New Orleans: vs GA (7-7), vs PHI (12-2)
Georgia: @ NO (12-2), vs SHR (1-13)
Pittsburgh: @ BAL (12-2), vs NY (6-8)
Baltimore: vs PIT (13-1), vs CHA (4-10)
Washington: @ NJ (10-4), vs BIR (5-9)
Philadelphia: vs ORL (11-3), @ NO (12-2)
New Jersey: vs WASH (6-8), vs BOS (6-8)
New York: vs BIR (5-9), @ PIT (13-1)
Boston: vs SJ (9-5), @ NJ (10-4)

MFN giveth and MFN taketh away. Honolulu somehow lost the x next to their name that was there before today's games were played. The good news is if they beat Los Angeles Week 16, they're in. If they lose, they'll be scoreboard watching. Details shortly once I go over some things.

This is the current playoff picture according to MFN.

Re: Playoff Races

American Conference

Clinched Division: Portland, Chicago

Clinched Playoff Spot: Houston, Oklahoma, San Jose, Honolulu (MFN is wrong)

In the Hunt: Memphis, Oakland

Two teams fighting for 1 spot and two divisions still don't have champions yet.

Houston I'm going off MFN here as they have listed Houston above Oklahoma all season since they split. If they beat the Sun, they'll be the #1 seed and get the coveted BYE. Lose and they'll be the #5 seed if Oklahoma wins.

Oklahoma The Outlaws would love Southern California to pull the upset as it would open the door for them to be the #1 seed with a win at San Antonio. Absent that, they will be the #5 seed.

Portland The Storm look locked into the #2 seed to me as they lost to Oklahoma and have a worse conference record than Houston. Chicago can't catch them either.

Chicago The Blitz look locked into the #3 seed to me as their conference record would be better than either San Jose or Honolulu with no head to head games to look at.

San Jose MFN says they're in regardless, but if they lose to Memphis they could be involved in a 3 way tie for 2 spots if Oakland beats Portland. A 3 way tie would put Memphis in first as the #6 seed because of a head to head sweep of San Jose and Oakland, leaving the SaberCats and Invaders tied for #7. Conference records would be tied, no head to head, and idk what's next...common games or point differential.

Honolulu They were supposedly in last week, now they're not, idrk what's going on. If they beat LA they're in. If San Jose beats Memphis or Portland beats Oakland, they're in even if they lose to the Express. The tiebreaking problems arise if they lose while both Oakland and Memphis win. That would leave 4 teams tied at 9-7 and we first have to break the tie within the division. They split with San Jose but the SaberCats have a better division record, so we'd have a 3 way tie for 2 spots.

I'm doing this in real time, looking up tiebreakers as I type and have just determined that Honolulu should be in no matter what. The first tiebreaker in a 3 way tie after you break division ties is a head to head sweep. Honolulu has beaten both Oakland and Memphis while Oakland has lost to Memphis and Honolulu. Therefore, I see no possible way Honolulu does not make the playoffs, which leads me to ...

Oakland The Invaders need to beat Portland and have San Jose beat Memphis to be the #7 seed.

Memphis The Showboats are in with a win over San Jose. If they lose, they need Portland to beat Oakland to get in.

National Conference

Clinched Division: New Orleans, Philadelphia, Orlando

Clinched Playoff Spot: Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New Jersey

In the Hunt: Boston, Georgia

MFN Says Eliminated, But If Boston and Georgia Lose, Who the **** Knows?: (All need to win, have BOS/GA both lose, and hope for tiebreakers) Jacksonville, Birmingham, Washington, New York

Baltimore The Stars completed a sweep of Pittsburgh and will win the division if they beat Charlotte. They can not be the #1 seed however, as they lost to both New Orleans and Philadelphia, losing the tiebreaker to both. A loss and they could still be #2 seed, #3, or #5 depending on other results.

New Orleans and Philadelphia face each other Week 16 with the winner getting the #1 seed and the BYE regardless of which team wins the Atlantic. The loser will be either #2 or #3 depending on which team wins the Atlantic. They both win tiebreakers over Baltimore, but if they tie Pittsburgh, that's in the common opponents/point differential range.

Pittsburgh The Maulers have had an excellent season and would be undefeated if not for Baltimore. They need both Stars teams to lose to win the division, as Pittsburgh plays the NY Stars this week. The Maulers will either be the #2 seed or #5 as the Maulers did not play NO or PHI and would have a worse conference record than the winner of the #1 seed showdown.

Orlando is locked into the #4 seed and will host New Jersey in the Wildcard Round as the Generals are locked into the #5 seed.

Boston The Breakers beat Georgia earlier this season and will make the playoffs if they beat the Generals. Sources tell me (I'm the source, haha) the Generals will be resting some starters for that game.

Georgia The Force need to beat a 1 win Shreveport team and hope backup QB Antonio Martinez can lead the Generals to victory over Boston to make the playoffs.

Jacksonville, Birmingham, Washington, and New York are hoping the Steamer end their season with an upset of Georgia and the Generals beat Boston. If those 2 things happen, a win for this group of four would put them in tiebreaker discussion. Too many variables/teams to look at at this late hour, apologies.

On a side note, my backup QB used to be a starter in this league and is 1-0 in his start this season, so I'm not exactly throwing the game away. Just trying to preserve some health.
