Stats, Stats, and more useless stuff with Stats

Not that anyone may have noticed, but

1) The BEST Offensive Team from Scrimmage (Arizona Wranglers @ 526 yards / game ) also has the WORST overall Defense ( 482 yards / game)........Anyone remember the 1979 Chargers?
2) The 3rd best Passing Offense ( Memphis Showboats @ 383.5 yards / game) also has the 31st worst passing defense (363.5 yards / game)......Gee, you would think a passing team would be able to defend it
3) Speaking of which, the #1 rushing team (Oakland Invaders @ 186.8 yards / game) also is the worst team to try to run against (30.0 yards / game).....Play your strength
4) The Georgia Force has the best QB in the league even though he is rated 65 potentential
5) RB Jamie Giles (Florida Blazers) is on a pace for 1900 rushing yards even though his team is 8th in rushing attempts / game
6) RDE Arthur Smith (Arizona) has now sacked every opposing starting QB
7) CB Edward Alston (Oakland) is currently the favorite challenge of opposing QB, having been thrown at 54 times this season alone......and
8) CB Edward Alston has established himself as an Island......knocked down 14 passes, intercepted 2, and has a league leading Catch Allowed Percentage of 24.1......Beat me if you can. Survive if Alston lets you.
Nearest threat is Juan Bonnett of my Gamblers with 26.4% CA.....After that its 42%
9) New Jersey Generals RG David Lantham is on a pace to allow 32 sacks this season (OK Owners insight moment...The Right side is the best side to run towards, but if the OL in those positions are weak (>50 pass blocking), I, as a owner, will put my better PR DL to the right side...Lantham is 18 PB........Just my opinion)

Dave Lapham, my crappy RG and current voice of the Cincinnati Bengals, was benched for getting Fluty hurt last season. His draft position/contract along with his measurables offered him a second chance this year. He is blowing it like he blows hot air during Bengals games, or like ex Miami OL coaches if you will.

Thru Week 5 of the 1975 season.....

The Oakland Invaders have not allowed a 100 yards to a RB since October 20th, 1974, when Robert Costello of the Detroit Wheels ran for 132 yards on 25 carries.

Currently a 14 REGULAR season streak.....18 counting Postseason / Preseason

That streak was broken in game 6 of the 1975 season when Adam Velesco of the Cleveland Thunderbolts rushed for 191 yards on 18 carries and 1 TD

As of game 7th of the 1975 season, QB William Hill of the Portland Storm has thrown
2 straight regular season games of over 500+ yards (Stopped at 6th game)
4 straight regular season games of over 400+ yards
8 straight regular season games of over 300+ yards

The last time he was under 300+ yards was December 15, 1974 against the Arizona Wranglers where he was 17/42 for 250 yards and 1 TD while being INT twice.

During that span, he threw 37 TDs and 7 INTs while being sacked 13 times

Yeah he's been an absolute stud for me and exactly what I envisioned when I reached for him in the first round of the allocation draft.

Thru game 6 of the 1975 season, the Jacksonville Bulls is the team with a Turnover Margin of +10, created more turnovers than they had. They currently have a 5 game streak of +1 or more. During that span, their secondary have had 8 interceptions, and they have recovered 9 fumbles while the Bulls threw 3 interceptions themselves. Through these created turnovers by their defense, 16 points can be directedly related to them.

The Bulls currently have7 players with an INT and 6 players with a fumble recovery,.with DT Raphael Alvarez leading the league with 4 recoveries while forcing 1

The streak ended in game 7 of the 1975 season when the Orlando Renegades intercepted Jacksonville twice for a -1 turnover margin

I did not know until just now that Jacksonville has allowed the fewest points of any team in the league through Week 6.

Yet although having the 10th best rushing offense as of Week 7 of the 1975 season, the New Orleans Voodoo have the best backs who get the best yards per carry averaging 7.0 yards per carry as a team. Led by RB James Nantz, who has 651 yards on 81 carries and 3 TDs while averaging 8.0 yards a carry, they also have backs averaging 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, and 4.1 respectively. Nantz is not a fluke, because in 1974 he had 897 yards rushing on 155 carries. During the seven games of this season he has had 28 rushes over 10+ yards. The last time he did not have a rushing attempt over 10+ yards was in the 4 game of the 1975 preseason on August 30 against the San Jose Sabercats. However his longest attempt for that game was 7 yards.
