The USFL Draft is next week and will draft each round by position. I don't like this idea. It takes away any strategy in deciding how you want to build your team. Obviously you just take the best at the specified position each round.

They could literally set up their board and auto--draft. Where's the intrigue?

Basically the 280 draftees have already signed contracts with the league and are just waiting to see which team they're on.

I was a Houston Gamblers fan back in the 80's, such as it was. The USFL didn't stick around long enough to get too attached to any team but I still liked Jim Kelly. I also didn't care for the Generals too much even though they had a couple of ex Bengals I knew (Dave Lapham and Jim LeClair). I also used to follow college football then and I didn't like Flutie all that much.

Now though, I'll probably end up buying some merch. Gotta support the team.

I guess the original USFL is suing the new USFL for copyright infringement, which threatens the season. I just want spring football, although I suspect they will need more than $3 to make them go away this time.

For you young ones, the old USFL sued the NFL and won...$1. The award was tripled because it was an anti-trust lawsuit, so they won $3.
