If I was a DJ playing dedications, I would play some Peaches and Herb for Cjfred. He is reunited with Tony Dean and it feels so good lmao.

Looking through the transactions now...

I see the AI up to it's old tricks, signing 10 year vet, 54 speed LB Harry Woods to a 4 year/$63 million contract with New Orleans

C Robert Walston is a rich man, signing a 6 year/$126 million contract with Cleveland

Tampa Bay forgot to sign impending free agents, losing the likes of Walston (I'm starting alphabetically from the end), but they spent a Brinks truck full of cash to keep DT George Shoemaker, spending nearly $183 million for 6 years

Tony Romo was signed by AI New Orleans

CB Gregory Kohlmeier joins the $30 million a year club as Oklahoma signed him away from Florida

CB Harry High has joined the $40 million a year club after signing a 6 year/$240 million deal with new Pittsburgh owner Chicagobears. High had a total of 8 offers over $30 million a year.

*Opinion/question* Is it still worth it to spend so much on DBs? I'm not so sure it is, and if I was gonna offer a max contract for a defender, it would most likely be a stud DE or LB.

Speaking of stud DE, Tampa Bay spent a lot to resign David Hernandez...6 years/$228 million

The champs signed nobody new. We tried, half heartedly, to sign a few but they all took better offers. We have plenty of draft picks and most everyone back from a team that's been to back to back World Bowls.

Best of luck in round 2

Wow so that is what it takes to get a decent FA around here. No wonder I have been outbid year after year. This year I threw my wallet at them and still lost, thought I would get at least one. Sitting here with $125 mil in cap space, going to need to load up a few Brinks trucks for next FA. Good luck in the draft all!

Problem is most every team has a ton of cap room, so any good free agents often get huge contracts. Over 24 seasons very few good young free agents hit the market so not many teams are spending tons of money. Compound that over time and it's a seller's market.

One way to fill holes is to sign an aging vet since that's what's mostly left. There are a lot of players that could provide a couple seasons of good play.

Another way would be the hkpman way, trade for a bunch of draft picks. I don't know how he keeps track of all of that but that dude always has a boatload of draft picks. He's an extreme example, but acquiring a few extra picks could pay off.

Fully intended to resign him if he didn't retire...signing him before his contract expired was ridiculous so I took my chances.

The Houston Gamblers are in a full rebuild....I expect some down years unless I totally destroy this draft and find talent in all 7 rounds...yeah right

I've done that before, balking at giving a huge bonus to a near retirement player then trying to sign him next FA1. Pretty good gamble because you figure not many, if anyone would make a serious offer for him at this point.

I did get a sub-par kicker! Figured I could get one in the draft, but they are turrible!

Becoming difficult to spend my cap money.....really gotta overpay for aging vets in this league.

I wanna rebuild and overpaying aging vets seems counter productive...oh well I hope the draft bears some fruit!

Did the same thing as you and got next to nothing either. Frustrating but gotta play the hand I'm dealt, I guess...

Best of luck to you as well...

I'm looking for any draft picks for either future picks or any vets on my roster.

Any draft picks including 6 and 7 rounders.

Call me Monty Hall and Let's make a Deal!!
