Re: 1996 All Pro Team

For those that are new to the league, I usually make a ballot and let the league pick the winners but since I am a full season late we're going with MFN selections. They only chose 1 RB and he played WR in 1996 so I'm moving him to WR and picking 2 RB myself. The WR getting screwed out of an All Pro selection is my player, and I'm fine with that because he was clearly the WR #3 of the league behind Hampton and Olson.

To make things simple, I chose the top 2 rushers for the All Pro team. MFN also only selected 1 DE, and that guy didn't have many sacks. Nobody did, but 2 sacks didn't even have him on my radar.

Despite the fact I never created the 1996 ballot, I did write down all the names I was going to use and DE John Clark wasn't on it. MFN named him though so he stays. The other DE on the team is the sack leader.

For kick returner, I used both guys that had 2 KO return TDs and called it a tie.

The last change I made was coach of the year. CJ should win it, but I originally had tjbevil on the list but since he's no longer around, I didn't include him.

Just noticed the champs didn't have a single All Pro selection, odd.

It's not really odd to me...it's my style of play which limits anyone on offense (except QB) from amassing huge individual stats. I try to build my team with depth so on offense, there really isn't a "GOTO" guy because I try to layer my playmakers so first they don't get injured and second stay fresh/less fatigued and fast.

Defensively, I've found that most of the leading tacklers came from teams that don't win a bunch and their defense is on the field way too much. Again I stack CBs and use lower fatigue settings so nobody gets great stats.

It's pretty much been true through all my teams in all leagues...only my QB can shine with an occasional RB or WR breaking out.

Still, you might think an OL might make it, or a playmaker, and perhaps you would have had several on the ballot had I did it normally. I'm 100% sure you don't care though and gladly take your trophies instead.

While I agree about defense, when I do the ballot, I look at more than tackles, and you usually have a DB or 2 with good INT totals and/or low catch allowed.

Now 4.6 changes things!!!

My QB stats sick along with recieving numbers and I stack RBs because it seems to work better for me.

Maybe I can get a sack guy to the Probowl occasionally but defensive back numbers seem to be down too because passing is down....if that makes sense...more drops means less knockdowns and picks

Maybe a K and P I can aim for!!!

Every QB has crappy stats, the leader in QBR had a rating of 87.38 (2 were higher, both backups...I'm talking starting QB here). Only Ferguson had over 4000 yards and 30 TDs.

Dean will make the ballot, right now I'm planning on at least the top 6 with a positive TD/INT ratio: Ferguson, Fugate, McNamee, Henry, Dean, and Plummer. I may or may not put Willie Graham on the list as well, but that's it. Byrd and Flanagan are 3rd/4th in yards but I don't like their awful TD/INT ratios.

Thomas Hutson will make it as well, tied for most INT by a DB, top 3 are all LB.

Not too long ago, I was wondering if I should expand the All Pro to include 3 WR. This year, I wish there was a way to scrap it altogether. I'm kidding, but the WR stats are a joke. We go from a 4000 yard WR to no 1000 yard WR in 1 season.

I've found TE1 is the goto reciever in 4.6

There are several TE near the top of the receiving list and will likely be a tight vote.
