I thought this would be interesting as a "get together" and understanding of each owner.

I'll be the first to start.

I am the current owner of the Houston Gamblers. My name is Jim and I have been playing this game for nearly 6 months. My brother played along side with real life Gambler DE Van Hughes of Axel High School in Central Texas. The #1 reason I wanted the team.

I was not able to play a snap with my brother because of the age difference. He graduated the year before I became a freshman.

I was originally placed at TE after I tried out for the team. Basically I could say I was playing End, Guard, and Tackle. I sat at the end of the bench, guarded the water, and tackled anyone who came near it.

As luck would have it, the starting DE injured his ACL with four games to go in the season. The coaches called on me to fill the spot. I was excited to be able to play. In the last 4 games of the season I had 8 sacks, one for the safety that won a game, and 23 tackles.

I then received a scholarship to the University of Houston where I backed up LBs and DLs. And as luck would have it, as a substitute for a Nickel based Defense, I intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

I was invited to the NFL combine, but as going as an undrafted free agent, no team decided that my skills were beneficial.

I am currently married to my wonderful wife of 35 years.
I have no children so I will not ever be called Dad or Grampa
I use to work in the oilfield business for 27 years. Thought this would be my "Lifetime" job until oil reached $24 a barrel......at which time I became "business oriented" expendable.
I am currently described as "Homeless" while living in a Shelter designed to bed the homeless as my main address after spending my life savings to keep my way of life undetectable to friends and family. Until it became obvious I was using the system.
I am currently working for a placement agency who send me to various jobs with no long term
advancement.
But I love football
