All change at the helm of the Steamers

It can be confirmed that starting QB Fred Murphy has left the Steamers. The 96 rated QB has been traded as part of a deal whereby QB Edgar Jones comes in from the Baltimore Stars plus a first round pick in this years draft. Murphy has led the team from day one and was considered by management to potentially be a star of this league but it has been a troubled few years and lately he has become more and more frustrated with the lack of confidence in the passing game and the lack of genuine threat at WR.

The management acknowledge that WR has been a problem with high profile draft picks busting but with the emergence of the running game and the need for the team as a whole to get some draft help it was felt that now was the time to make a change. The incoming QB Edgar Jones is young and is felt to have the necessary attributes to take the team forward.

We wish Fred Murphy all the best in his new home in Baltimore and he takes with him over 22,000 passing yards at a rating of 87.34.

Murphy did a good job for you for a long time. Baltimore looks like they are getting ready to finally challenge Pittsburgh in that division.
