gardiner and the bell finish out season strong with bell winning last 4 games,at start of season with our large cap hit we set ourselves modest target of just improving on 3 wins we had last year,we ended up with 6.5 wins,so as we roll around into next season we find ourselves again at mercy of retirement gods,we have about half a dozen high possibilities and if this is the case we will have another high cap hit and pretty much another season like this with modest targets like blood youngsters and improve on win totals.
we are especially delighted about the core of last years rookie class we have 5 players that we think performed to a very high standard,running back epperson led the running backs with his turn of pace it gives us a threat that brown and moon dont bring,the ability to take it to the house,next up WR jones led the team for yardage and at one point was in yearly rookie team but late season injuries slowed his stat line,ss lehm was probably out most consitant performer shoring up the run game and having mobility to get across field to break up plays,CB jerry guy started season on fire but eventually settled into honest solid corner didnt give up a ton of big plays but no highlights,next up was centre gonzalez despite being brought in for depth his slightly stronger frame meant he kept starting job and heads into next season atop the depth chart.we had godfrey and aoki play in spells and didnt look completely out of place,perhaps the biggest disappointment from our rookie class was DT alcott who barely saw the field and earned the nickname sicknote from his teammates.
gardiner and front office have also stated they would field calls for their 1st round pick and after another season of underachievement we are courting offers for QB hernandez
