Huge and interesting deal here.
Portland Storm sends:Ivory Villanueva (TE): 92 (my weights), 8th year, 10% chance of retiring
John Sanders (WR): 91, 9th year, 10%
1982 Round 2: average Portland draft position over the last 5 seasons is 21.2
1984 Round 1: average Portland draft position over the last 5 seasons is 21.2
Washington Federals sends:Gary Munch (WR): 80, 8th year, 0% retirement
Jacob Scully (TE): 84, 8th year, 0%
Kristopher Brown (RB): 36/72, rookie, 3rd-round pick
* Washington picks up a couple All-Pro players for up to three seasons as well as two late picks. This deal all but guarantees they will defend their Atlantic Division title and contend for the World Bowl.
* Portland gets two good players for up to five seasons and a rookie RB (switched to WR) for X seasons. This deal probably helps them extend their contender status into the future.
I see this as a win/win. I will be interested to see if anyone formally requests a review by the trade committee.
