You take dead cap regardless whether you trade or cut them.

Why would I get dead cap?? doesn't he get the contract?

I get the contract, but you'll eat the bonus one way or the other. However, eating the bonus for a year doesn't hurt that bad unless you're already cap stretched.

The bonus doesn't bother me that much still have a good chunk of cap left

Then this trade should work out well for both of us. I needed LBs.

Kelso has 83 speed and 60/66 man coverage. You could do a lot worse.
