This has been voted down in the past, but as we've had some owner turnover, I thought I'd bring this back up. The real life NFL is seeing an increase in WR running the ball as offenses try to get the ball in the hands of their best playmakers. Sure, Deebo and the others don't carry the ball 20 times a game like we will do with our WR if this passes, but I don't have a problem with that.

Reducing the injury rate to 74 will likely not reduce injuries too much and having this position flexibility would help teams when cluster injuries hit your playmakers.

It's one less custom rule to follow. As our overall user base dwindles, I'm not really keen on finding violations and threatening removal from the league for using a WR at RB.

Of course the flipside is Smirt would no longer have RBs, he'd convert them to WR but he already does this on defense with 14 DBs and hardly any LB or DL and nobody is complaining about that.

We'll see how the vote goes, but I may relax the 2:1 ratio thing for this. Leaning toward making this a majority deal.

Just a reminder, if this passes, the change won't take effect until next season.

There is one particular difference between RL NFL and MFN: Almost every WR playing RB weighs close to 215lbs +/-

Always find it interesting that JDB has this game set so every player in a position group attains the same weight. That’s a real paper bag idea.

I'm confused, do you mean RL NFL WRs weigh 215lbs?

Below is a list of the leading rushing WRs and under that I listed the top 10 WRs weights.

It's not the same as MFN because the NFL incorporates presnap motion and jet sweeps which don't occur in MFN at all.

Deeboo Samuel 216 lbs
Curtis Samuel 194 lbs
Jamal Agnew 185 lbs
Kendrick Bourne 190 lbs
Amon-Ra St. Brown 203 lbs
Chase Claypool 238 lbs
Devin Duvernay 202.lbs
Braxton Berrios 190 lbs
Tyreek Hill 191 lbs
Ceedee Lamb 197 lbs

What Motion Does

Motion in most cases is utilized to uncover defensive strategy. Often, offenses would send a receiver in motion to discover if the defense was in zone coverage, a man coverage or some combination based on how they would realign in motion.

Over the years, it started to trend toward motion at the snap of the ball to set up plays in both the run and pass game as well as create easier blocking lanes for WRs to get involved in pass protection, run fits and take pressure off of offensive lineman.

Now, teams use a combination of all these things in their offenses as well as use motion to create matchups for their best receivers.

We haven't had any votes in a couple days and barring a late rally to keep the rule, we will be switching next season. For those that did not vote and can't see the results, it's 14-6 in favor of switching the rule. I was planning on relaxing the 2:1 ratio I usually look for to change a rule but obviously 14-6 is more than that so no controversy.

We've had 3 more votes since my last comment and it's now 16-7. Will unsticky this post now.
