National ConferenceDivision Winners: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Orlando, New Orleans
Wildcard: Birmingham
MFN Says Wildcard, I Say Not So Fast: Washington
In The Hunt: New Jersey, Shreveport, Boston
Pretty sure the standings glitch is here again in the National Conference as I can't confirm that Washington is in. There could be a 3 way tie at 9-7 for the final 2 spots, and in that scenario Washington would be eliminated I think based on conference record if New Jersey is in the mix.
First we have to resolve the possible New Jersey/Boston tie at 9-7. We split and New Jersey will have the better division record so the Generals would be ahead of the Breakers.
If Shreveport, Washington, and New Jersey all end up 9-7, the first tiebreaker is head to head sweep/swept by the other teams and the Generals played neither so on to step 3.
In the NFL, conference records are next and for all 3 to be 9-7, New Jersey would be 8-4 in conference, Shreveport 7-5, and Washington 6-6.
Of course New Jersey could always lose to the #1 seed Philadelphia, making the 3 way tiebreaker moot. That wouldn't necessarily eliminate the Generals, as losses by Shreveport and Boston would create a 3 way tie for the last spot that New Jersey should win based on conference record.
As far as the #1 seed in the American Conference, I admittedly have no clue. Houston is listed as #1 for now, but that's likely because they're 10-2 conference record is half a game better than the 9-2 marks of Portland and San Jose. If they all win in Week 16, they'll all have 10-2 conference records, and the next tiebreaker is either common games or strength of victory.
The following are the scenarios that I know at the moment...
______________________________________________________________________________
Honolulu needs to win and they're in, while Chicago needs a win and a Honolulu loss.
Washington needs a win or a New Jersey loss to get in.
New Jersey is in with a win. Lose, and they're still in if both Shreveport and Boston lose.
Shreveport needs a win and a New Jersey loss to get in.
Boston needs a win and losses by New Jersey and Shreveport to get in.
