Congratulations to Smirt on winning his first World Bowl and the first for his San Jose franchise. We can argue WHY Smirt won until we're all blue in the face, but whatever the reason is (imo it's a combination of skill and luck to win any championship), San Jose are the new USFL Champions, and they had to beat 3 pretty tough teams to do it.
One thing I do know is true is that Smirt's target on his back just got bigger. He says it himself, he's a target, but now that he's the Champ, that target just got bigger as 31 other owners want what he has.
Congratulations to New Orleans as well, as just making a World Bowl is no easy task. The balance of power seems to be evening out a little after a long spell of American Conference dominance. The VooDoo had the #2 offense and #1 defense, and should be a World Bowl contender again in 2001.
I sincerely hope every one of you will renew for the upcoming season, which will be the 28th season of USFL/WFL football.
