World Bowl XXIII

Houston Gamblers (17-2) vs New Jersey Generals (15-3)

Point Spread: Even

Houston: Offense 4th Defense 7th
New Jersey: Offense 1st Defense 10th

Playoff Records: Houston 30-8 New Jersey 29-16

World Bowl Records: Houston 6-0 (IX, XI, XII, XV, XXI, XXII) New Jersey 2-4 (VI, VIII (Win), IX, X (Win), XI, XIII)

Head to Head: Houston is 4-2 vs New Jersey in the regular season and 2-0 in World Bowls (IX, XI)

Injuries: Houston 8 probable, 1 doubtful New Jersey 4 probable, 3 questionable, 1 I.R.

Prediction: Houston 34 New Jersey 31

It's the World Bowl, where the American Conference always wins, plus I can't pick against Tony Dean in the post season. If history matters, Houston wins as they are 2-0 against the Generals in the World Bowl, but history also says if any team from the National Conference can break the streak, it's New Jersey. Florida won the first World Bowl, and New Jersey has the National Conference's other 2 titles, although it's been a long time ago.

I think the Generals can win, they do have the #1 offense after all. These games often come down to turnovers though, and I feel like Ferguson is more likely to throw a killer INT than Mr. MVP.

Good luck CJ, not that you need it, let's send version 4.5 out in style. On one hand I didn't really want to face your Gamblers as it probably means a loss, but on the other hand, if we're going to win and break the World Bowl losing streak, I want to do it against the best.

Good luck to you sir!!!

Obviously I want to win but losing to you wouldn't ruin my night and Tony Dean's legacy doesn't hinge on it. He has done way more then I could have asked of him! Let's enjoy this because who knows when/if we will ever make it again.

I'm really pulling for Tony Dean to retire after this game/season because I don't want to watch him struggle in 4.6!
