I hate bringing up this sore subject again, but we've had some new owners since the Mark McKeon days and we had a speedy LB block a punt in Week 1. I started doing a spot check but stopped after I found 2 other teams with LB on the ST Rusher depth chart, including the team whose punt was blocked. To be fair, the LB Los Angeles used at #2 only has 41 speed and his #1 is a 55 speed LB.

The rule will take effect immediately after I close the poll

I only ever go by the sticky, so I've been playing the front 4 incorrectly since the rule was established and I don't think I've seen a punt block.

I really wish JDB would just fix these issues himself, but that's not going to happen anytime soon.

Pretty sure the reason I didn't specify on the Punt Block Exploit is because of the min weight rule for DL, I figured that covered it. I consider the front 4 on punt block to be DL.

If I take my thoughts out of the equation, I can see how the rules could be interpreted to allow LB on the front 4, which is why Rialto faces no sanctions...technically he didn't break a written rule.

Since we have had a lot of owner turnover, I figured it would be a good time to revisit this.

As far as I'm concerned, if it's not listed in the official rules sticky post then it's not a rule.

That said, just because there isn't a rule against doing something doesn't mean it's ok to do it.
Ex: if there were no rule specifically forbidding playing a CB at RB you still shouldn't do it.

For those of you voting Yes anywhere regardless of speed, you do realize you are essentially allowing a limited punt block exploit?

I'm about to go to work for the night, so feel free to discuss this peacefully for 10 hours or so without me chiming in. Personally, I'm fine with whatever gets chosen, I'm not going to get upset about this silly game, it's not worth it. I just want a set of rules everyone can live with and I apologize for the ambiguity on my part that led to this being drug up again.

A few things...

1) Awesome response, half the league responded within an hour or so and we have 22 votes in the poll

2) Happy to see no flame wars on the message board. It's nice to discuss things in a calm, rational manner. We did have 1 owner threaten to quit if LB weren't allowed at all. I'll let that slide this time, but that doesn't work on me.

3) I have a possible solution that is basically what I always intended the rule to be in the first place https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/2140?page=1&x=eA3BBqgAo1
