World Bowl XXI

Houston Gamblers (14-4) vs Washington Federals (17-2)

Point Spread Washington -5

Houston: Offense 4th Defense 15th
Washington: Offense 10th Defense 6th

Playoff Records: Houston 23-8 Washington 13-13
World Bowl Records: Houston 4-0 (IX vs NJ, XI vs NJ, XII vs Birm, XV vs Balt) Washington 0-3 (XIV vs Mem, XVII vs Mem, XX vs Port)

Head to Head: Houston is 5-0 All Time vs Washington in the regular season with the last win coming Week 2 of 1992 25-20

Injuries: Houston 4 probable, 1 questionable Washington 3 probable, 1 Out

Prediction: Houston 27 Washington 23

I've made no secret I am pulling for Washington because our conference is 3-17 all time in the World Bowl. That and the Gamblers 5-0 record against the Federals is why I'm picking Houston to win. I said before this last game it's hard to bet against Tony Dean, and these two teams are evenly matched so I needed some reason to pick somebody.

Washington has an excellent chance to break the 10 game American Conference World Bowl win streak. The Federals defense has only allowed more than 20 points twice all season and their offense can grind out drives, keeping Dean on the sideline. They are making their second straight World Bowl appearance and the only way to finally win one is to keep coming back.

Much respect to the Federals/crazyrazor.....being a Wildcard and winning 3 straight road playoff games is no easy path to a title.

I backed into a 1st round bye, losing my last 2 games versus Portland and Denver but did enough early in the season to cling on to the #2 seed. My team has struggled against better opponents in recent years especially in the playoffs. I started the playoffs with a nothing to lose attitude and will continue that approach once again!

Good luck Crazy and I hope it's a great game!!!
