(Qtr 1) Bandits: 1-1-POR -2 (1:48) TOUCHDOWN! Extra point GOOD by 10-Edward Walter. POR 0 TAM 7

Anyone have any theories on what happened? There was a fumble on the play before this, could this possibly be the extension of that play?

There was a blue circle around the QB, so maybe he either ran the ball or fumbled and recovered his own fumble.

In any case, you can't decipher anything from the (blank) play-by-play.

On the play before, it appears the fumble was recovered at the 0-yard-line.

It's a bug with how distances are calculated in the game. Technically the ball is over the GL when the ball is snapped, but since distances are calculated in float values, the ball is snapped on the 99.9999999999999 yard line (or whatever the equivalent is). That means when the QB takes the snap, he triggers the TD.

This is the same **** that causes so many 4 and inches plays.

Probably the same bug that caused this...(Qtr 1) Generals: 1-10-SJS 0 (8:37) 18-Jake Plummer pass INTERCEPTED by 60-Justin Orlowski at SJS 0. 60-Justin Orlowski to SJS 0 for -1 yards. TOUCHDOWN! Extra point GOOD by 4-Al Borland. SJS 7 NJG 7

Video shows Orlowski already in the end zone when Plummer throws him the ball, but he was credited with negative 1 yard.

Not quite. On that play, the defender catches the ball at the -1 yard line since he catches the ball in the end zone.

The one above happens because the game doesn't have a concept of the ball being exactly on the GL or the first down line. It's either less than or greater than the distance.

Then it should be a 0 yard return. I have seen several "0 yard TD's" in box scores in doing the blog, but this is the only negative yardage TD I remember.
