Usually when you see "Game of the Week" in the real world, it's an important game between two strong, winning teams. Most of you know that's not always the case in the MFN world, as our GOTW is just whatever game has the narrowest point spread.
For Week 10 though, MFN got it right. A few weeks ago, I wondered if Florida vs Portland in Week 12 would feature two 11-0 teams. That obviously is out the window, and even if it wasn't, it's still a cross conference game.
This week, the GOTW is the 9-0 Philadelphia Bell @ the 8-1 New Jersey Generals, a divisional matchup. If Philadelphia wins, they will have a commanding 2 game lead with the tiebreaker advantage (Philadelphia gave New Jersey their 1 loss) while the Generals need a win if they hope to win the division. Not only that, but a New Jersey loss could put the wildcard in jeopardy. The Atlantic is a 3 team race, and while New Jersey is currently the top wildcard, the Generals still have 8-1 Florida on the schedule and a game against the Baltimore Stars, who are currently the #7 seed.
