I suspect Houston may not be pleased with this ranking. Two weeks away from finding out which team is the poser (spoiler: it's Memphis).

Sorry, but the numbers don't lie. I measure 8 categories and the Federals are top 5 in 6 of those, and the only bad ranking was penalty yards. Considering you're 31st in that and Baltimore 32nd with a combined 17-1 record, I'm not sure I should even count penalties.

If I take out penalties and turnover ratio, Memphis would be #1 with 25 points, followed by your Federals with 27 then Birmingham (41), Houston (42) and Baltimore (50).

I'm just having fun with this. My team will end up disappointing me at some point this season. (Probably in the playoffs)

I would bet CJ is too busy polishing all his Championship trophies he's recently won to worry about power rankings.

Fun is what this should be about. I think we all agree power rankings are nothing more than a talking point. In the end, the only power rankings that matter is the playoffs.

I think our playoffs are going to be brutal in both conferences. There may be a few teams that seem much stronger than others but there will be no easy games in the post season.

I will be shocked if the Generals make it to World Bowl XII. We're still a good team but the 7-2 record seems shaky to me. We used to win on defense with good cover DB's and a mean pass rush. Now I have to run the ball to limit my defense's time on the field, because age and mediocre drafts have made my defense average. At best we'll be #3 seed and may win our home game, but then go on the road and beat Washington, Baltimore or Birmingham? Get lucky there then another roadie against someone else? Hahaha.

I'm OK with that though.

That's ridiculous! Too busy polishing all my trophies! I have a fulltime staff for that....but seriously I do enjoy power rankings and if I'm not ranked #1 then that tells me there is room for improvement.

I should have known you wouldn't be polishing them yourself. Just don't pull an ACB or Warren Sapp, gotta pay your people.

I'm figuring these out on paper so I don't have time to type out the full breakdown, but this can apply to everyone.

In Houston's case, their ranking is most affected by being 31st in defensive YPC while Memphis is 1st. You can run on Houston but if your defense doesn't hold their high powered offense down, it won't matter.

In New Jersey's case, we aren't spectacular at anything but we're 10th in points, 7th in points allowed and score pretty good in the penalty/turnover department. We are average in the 4 yards per play categories.

Anyone can see where they need to improve by looking at your team stats.

I think you can be forgiven for the calibration, considering we lost in OT.
