This trade looks much better than the other one IMO. Two young, fast DB's with excellent M2M cover skills whose overall ratings are on the rise.

I haven't looked at the rosters involved, but perhaps Oklahoma wanted to upgrade their secondary and felt he wouldn't be able to in this draft? Oklahoma gets 2 players at a position he wants whose values are rising vs the volatility crapshoot the draft can be.

If this trade ends up getting reviewed, you already have my opinion unless someone shows why this is bad.

From Detroit's perspective, they have cap problems so maybe this is where the "Why?" comes from. I get trading away 2 young players for cap relief, especially when they still have 9 DB's but this deal doesn't really help. They trade away a player with a 1982 1st round rookie contract and one with a 1983 2nd round contract, and get a 1985 1st and 2nd in return. That is a net cap loss on the salaries plus a ton of dead cap money for unpaid bonuses.

To me, getting solid players like that in the secondary are priceless. You don't see many in the draft. Oklahoma got a great deal on this. I'm not challenging it or saying it's unfair.
